Hi rcosing,

Congrats!!! Would like to know if you did not take the ielts where were you short of points? And how were the
points reached 67 ? So ielts can be skipped by the old applicants? Pls. enlighten us kabayan, salamat..

Hi piolo,

We were short of points because we skipped IELTS. They will only award 8pts for language if you did not submit IELTS results. We took the exam last June.

Rcosing,
Even if you are under the old process you need to take the IELTS?

Yup, for additional points. On our initial application we just submitted a document stating that we have studied, worked and travelled in an english speaking environment/country for x number of years. But apparently this is not enough, they only awarded 8pts. In their letter they required us to take the IELTS and attain the needed score to earn the max 16pts for language.

Zhazimi,

Just for your information IELTS is mandatory even for the old applicants under
SAP.

I'm so happy for you! I'm amazed of how fast they process papers now. I gives us hope and assurance that old system is not really forgotten. BTW, did you take the IELTS?

Zsashimi,
I think all you really need to take IELTS because my agent told me that they really require for it which started April of 2010. That is why I took it even before CIC would ask for it. French is required in Quebec

Ok.. First things first..

Not that I do not want to take IELTS.. I just dont have the time.. :-(

Thanks Gico for the info.. I guess I have to prioritize... I am preparing for a certification exam (work-related) that is why I dont have the time plus I have school to attend to every Saturday.. But if I really want to go to Canada, then I have no choice but to find time to take the IELTS
