When I received date of my full hearing, I enquired on this forum for lawyer, and @VG73 just suggested "why hire a lawyer?", yet I went to a lawyer and who wanted $5,000 upfront with no guaruntee, and when i requested him to reduce some, he was rude and told me, let's not waste his time or mine. I immediately got up and left his office, and started preparing everything on our own.
It's basically, you and your spouse does the talking, and lawyer/consultants plays no role, and yet charge $5-6K.

I know...very annoying how they charge... am pretty sure they have the connections with the visas officer's who refuses us the innocent in other for them to get money from us.

Hello,
My MP just found out the reason for our refusal - visitor visa was denied in Oct 2016 and one reason they gave was “misrepresentation”, which apparently comes with a 5-year ban [of course this is not something they would clearly spell out in the TRV refusal letter]. The “misrepresentation” was done by our lawyer at the time - he didn’t check off that my husband was previously denied a visa, though he did include a cover letter explaining why he thought the previous visa refusal was not justified. There was also a visa refusal from 12 years prior to the USA that was not disclosed by that lawyer. All of this we included on the spousal sponsorship application, not knowing that there was a ban in place.
Still waiting for the official refusal letter, but I already know I will need to put in an appeal within 30 days. Looking for some advice please. Some tell me I should hire a lawyer, reading here it says I should not... does that depend on what kind of appeal it is?

Also, if I need a good lawyer, would be open to suggestions - I am near Winnipeg MB

Congrats!! Im going to a full hearing too. I just have a question. Did you have to supply them with phone cards? Is it those prepaid ones where you just go to the store to buy?
I supplied two that were working, loaded one up with more money. In the end when it came time to use them. They tried twice and failed. So the security/commissionaire just said she would use the government calling card. I was slightly embarrassed as I proclaimed they worked the day before. However, made my point of this is how unreliable communication can be overseas to my husbands country. Morocco.

I am very sorry for your situation. Unfortunately, there is pretty much waste of your time to appeal. Your husband has been banned for 5 years, until then (2021), there is impossible for him to come to Canada.
A lot people don't understand that it is rarely accepted as a valid argument such as "I made an honest mistake" or "My lawyer made mistake". To the eyes of CIC, you, the applicant, who signed the forms, will be 100% responsible for all the information filled in your application. DON'T EVER LIE TO CIC, OR YOU SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES.
Especially for those that had visa denial histories with USA, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and England, those countries share immigration information with CIC.

Can you read the corresponding message onkine on GC key ?

You could try emailing them or calling CIC saying you never recieved a email or letter[/

Yes today i linked my app with GC key and its showing no correspondence like medicle or updated froms asked yet, they will let us know when needed. so maybe that was an error on online status :)

hi, Critical situation here :) our all correspondence through email. my online status showing-
''' We sent you correspondence on December 5, 2017. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required. '''

But we didn't get any email from cic Singapore office. We r so frustrated, cos they may refuse again if we fail to send them required documents whiten 30 days. Give mail to cic to resend the mail, no idea they fix it or not. we ask GCMS note but that will take 30 days!!
5th December we mail cic about change our representative and my wife will be our representative now, cic reply mail on 5th December asking us a signed imm 5476 Representative form and we sent that. So we r confused weather the change of status is about the representative forms? Or we miss the mail about our Medical, updated forms and pcc request which we r expecting for last 2 months after wining our adr !!

please advice if someone face same situation and overcome it. :( :(

I am impressed with immigration, canceled my ADR and now I go to full hearing, from the beginning of my appeal I sent 2 packages with documents and photos and there is nothing in my file, I called yesterday and I talked to them, and in the immigration computer being that the documents arrived, but they do not know where my documents and my photos are, a lot of deoganizacao of the immigration, because I have nothing in my process and the fault of the immigration.

Omg that is so frustrating ...I hope once this is done you complain to someone about this and write the minister of immigration to complain. It's BS what they put people through
