We will need more details than that. What does it say on your ECAS? In your other post, you mentioned that you think you may not have met the eligibility requirements for being a sponsor. Why do you say that?

Usually when they decline you, there should be an opportunity to appeal. Is it possible that your partner withdrew her application?

Huge congrats to you!!

Thank you and this forum had helped me so much. It got tons of information plus all the members here are supergenerous with their time in answering my PM's.

If you present a good case, honest and speaks from the heart a high percentage you will win. I think each of our case is unique that's why study your case, check this forum and read cases in CanLII plus don't keep secrets if you have a lawyer. You have to tell your lawyer everything so there will be no surprises at the actual hearing.

Hi NKT0817 u wouldn't be able to check the status on Ecas until there is no decision. After u get your appeal allowed still you ll hv to wait for few days. Wen they transfer your file for the further processing then they ll update the information on ecas. So hv patience. Keep yourself busy.

What do you mean by appeal allowed? I used to check it before the appeal hearing. and it said app received and decision made. Now that we had our hearing and are waiting on the new decision shouldn't it at least still be the old info? Thanks

Congrats, thats such a nice news. Its nice to get it over with before Christmas.
Thank you so much. Best Christmas gift so far. The judge told my conjugal partner, she actually called him your husband, said that I will get my visa in four months. I don't want to have false hope but will see

OK. Thank you! If appeal is allowed does it only go to ottawa or does the application also go back to processing country?

Immigration may be working faster.
We win appeal November 16,2016. Received written notice of appeal allowed November 22.
On December 5th got an email asking wife to redo medical and police report , etc.
Said we could scan all our papers, and send it in by replying to their e-mail.
So it will go to Ottawa.

If you have a good case, I'd say the hearing should be a lot easier than the VO interview. By most accounts, the VO interview is more like an interrogation. The VO are intimidating, and resort to tactics that would not be allow in, for example, a job interview or a courtroom.

In contrast, the hearing is a lot more structured, and follow written courtroom rules and procedures. In a full day hearing, you have a lot of time to be able to argue your case. The key is being prepared. You have the advantage of knowing what their concerns are, from the interview, the refusal letter, and the appeal record. You can send in an abundance of evidence to prove your case. And you can direct them to specific evidence that the VO might have only glossed over, misinterpreted, or simply overlooked. And you can call on witnesses to support your case.

Just read the last few pages of this forum, and you'll see people talk about their experiences at their hearings.
