Idk about other ppl. But our VO was not nice to us or my husband. I've seen other stories about VIsa Officers in other places like mine. So not necessarily you will have a crappy one. The less you have they can complain about is better. She have problem with our age difference and different religions. Age is not a problem for my husband but problem for her. And I'm Catholic and my husband is Muslim. No problem for him, big problem for her. I do Ramadan with his family in Morocco and the next yr I do it all on my own. 16 and 1/2 hours of daylight in my province. And I worked mostly 12 hour days. A small step maybe. She also lied and said I didn't work. She lied and said my husband should know more about me, for visiting 5 times. He answer all questions she asked of him. When we got married I stayed there almost 7 months. She called him handsome and me old.
Anyway like I said, maybe you won't have a VO like ours. We have appealed and they say 2yrs plus to win. Not too mention court. I have been back 3 times since refusal. Right now am here for 3 or more months. Read up on all the questions they ask. Hopefully you will be fine.

It means cannot be let inside Canada. Not allowed in.

What does the inadmissible part mean ? :S

talk about a stupid VO !! He/she uses 3 negatives in a single sentence. so ... inadmissable means you are not admitted ... not inadmissable means you are allowed ... not not inadmissable means you are not allowed:

"I am NOT satisfied that you are NOT INADMISSABLE and that you meet the requirements of the act as such, i am refusing your application"

I agree, when I read it I reread it and in my opinion it says ultimately that he's allowed. It's a standard refusal letter. After that they say not a member of the family class. Wth... I want my husband to live with me know Canada and know my family and friends. After she flat out refuses, she has the nerve to say," Thank you for your interest in Canada" They need to video the interviews. If they did we would have a very different outcome.

I got the same sentence in my refusal letter from Havana Cuba and I like you wondered what it meant.

LOL i am still confussed i dont think i will ever understand it and it also said that he doesnt think our marriage is geniune it was entered to get permanent resident only Lol...
But that "not inadmissible" part confuses me is there any point of appealing ? Because we dont really have anything new to submit except that we've always been in touch and that i went to see him but that was like two years ago..and we did send each other few gifts and money sometimes so its basically the same thing we submitted at the time of application but this time with new dates.... So just wondering if this appeal will really be worth it ...gonna be spending 6 thousand for it.

If you haven't visited your husband in two years - then I wouldn't appeal. I would visit your husband once or twice and then reapply. Two years is a long time to go without seeing each other and I think that will make the appeal process difficult. Spend the $6K on visiting your husband rather than a lawyer to appeal. At least that's what I would do.

hi maria...you said that they had a problem with your age difference?...can you tell me how big it is here or in pm?...mine is 28 so I am worried....and second question you said that you did not see your husbund 2 years??...so after you start the process you did not see each other anymore ??or ??

I don't understand. You're an adult - you can make the decision whether to go or not to go yourself. I'm not sure I understand how your parents could stop you.

Just a brief update - May 9, successful full hearing in Edmonton. No lawyer, all by myself. Total appeal processing time - 23 months.
Main tips for everyone:
1. Do your homework, prepare yourself. Even if you have a lawyer... he will not testify for you.
2. Be yourself at the hearing.
3. Don't waste your time to learn "common questions and answers", this is useless. Each case is different, and so are the questions.

you need to convince your parents that you need to go. CIC will look at this closely and if you didn't go meet, chances are low you would win the appeal. You need to show them that your relationship is genuine------- and genuine people will do almost anything to be with their significant other. Best wishes
