Yes, this is normal. It takes at least a month from the time the decision is made for your file to be sent to Ottawa and re-opened so until then, you will have no access to the online account. Once your file is re-activated, it will either be sent back to your original visa office for processing, or the processing will be completed in Ottawa. Shortly after they should send you a document request in the form of an email notifying you there is a message in your account, where you will find your instructions for most likely a new medical, police check, copy of passport info pages, updated schedule A and background forms and a deadline for all this to be submitted. (The medical can take a few weeks to obtain in some countries, if that is the case in your country it might be a good idea to go request that now).

Then you wait...There is no set time for how long this is going to take, I have seen people report between 3-7 months... however there is someone on this forum that won their appeal and has been waiting since last September

As for myself, we won our appeal on the spot on April 28, file was sent to Ottawa and re-opened on May 9th. New docs were requested at the end of May, submitted everything June 13th... was notified on August 23 that two of the updated forms still not received so had to resend, which was very upsetting. The deadline was very close and I was not able to get a live person on the phone at cic to make sure they got everything, so I went to my MP office. They did an inquiry to ensure the docs were received and to find out the status, ask about the background check that still was showing as not started. 2 weeks later our background changed to in process, we got pre-arrival letter the next day, and the day after that passport request! It was a a barrage of everything. We are still in shock, its been 26 months for us since we first applied in August 2016 and it was starting to feel like this was how it was going to be forever. He will be landing on November 3rd.

Have a little more patience and strength, you got through the hardest parts already. You won your appeal, so now its just administrative procedures. The faster your respond to document request and re-medical, the better and make sure you DO NOT MAKE ANY MISTAKES on the forms. This can cause awful delays. Once you have sent everything and if a few months go by without any updates or movement, see if your MP can do an inquiry for you. At that stage I think it can be helpful. Good luck!

Oh really thanks a lot for sharing your experience and information my visa office is London I pray that it’s process in Ottawa and I am from Pakistan so how I know that medical take long time because last time I do so after three day they give me appointment so or it’s ok and as you say that don’t make any mistake in forms so which forms I submit in the time of submitting application so same like that I filled at because in our case everything same nothing change so it’s ok

After 2 months and 1 week we emailed to Ottawa the updated forms and PCC, got a email from them this morning telling us that they haven't receive any of the documents from us. We immediately resend all the documents again with a follow-up email whether they receive the resend ok but got no reply back from them beside that auto response email. Just curious of how you guys check with Ottawa regard documents emailed to them is ok or there is no way to check beside waiting for them to tell us?

Wait at least a week after you sent them and you can call the call center and they can confirm that documents were received. They wont be able to necessarily see which ones but they will know something was received and when it was logged. If you cant get a live person on the phone, as its been increasingly difficult lately, you can send a web-inquiry, although it usually takes a minimum of 10 days for a response. Another option is to order your gcms notes which will clearly show if they received anything as well as any new info that you may not be aware of but it takes a month to get those. I was in the same boat as you, sent documents immediately as they were requested and two months later notified they didnt get all of them. I resent again, twice but with no way to confirm started to panic so I went to my MP who did an inquiry. After about 10 days they got back to let me know the documents were received. 2 days later we got pre-arrival services letter, next day passport request! so going to the MP seemed to get the machine rolling again. Otherwise, all you can do is wait. I wish they would just update cic to reflect when documents are received . It creates a lot of anxiety and people going through this awful appeal process have already been dragged through the ringer.

You can't fill the forms in advance, there is a good chance the forms have changed a bit since you submitted your original application and you have to use the new ones they instruct you to use. But if nothing has changed, then it will be very easy for you. You can not do the medical in advance either, you have to wait for them to ask for this too. They will give you enough time to do everything, I think its 60 days so you should be fine, just be ready to act as soon as you are requested. Its the police check that you may want to get started on now if it takes time to get that. In my husbands case it takes 10 business days, but it was almost Ramadan at the time so we thought it would be better to go get it before Ramadan started and everything ground to a halt, and it was a good thing he did because of course, they requested everything during Ramadan and would have taken weeks to get it.
Also, if your passport is going to expire soon, you need a new one. I think for them to issue a visa it needs to be valid for at least 6 months at the time of issuance so if you know it is getting close just go get a new one now, because that takes a while to get back too and better to have it in hand now before they request it.

Thanks for your advice, I already engaged the MP last Friday to check on my file, after we resend the docs we send a follow-up emailed to CPC Ottawa and I also did a web form inquiry as well, so I guess I will have to wait. My wife told me a few other appeal cases in Aug and Sep this year has encountered some email problem, the CIC computer system indicated a correspondence was sent but they didn't receive any email from Ottawa at all.

Passport is ok then. I honestly do not know if they are going to want all of the police checks again. My guess would be yes, because they probably did not do anything with the old ones as you never made it to the background check stage so they need new current ones in order to start that process. I highly doubt they will only require one for wherever you are currently living and not want the ones from the other places you have lived, that makes no sense.

Yes, just wait now something will turn up. An answer to my web form, the response to the MP, and my gcms notes all came barreling in at once, followed shortly after by pre-arrival services letter, background check update, passport request, and decision made update.
My MP confirmed that there was a huge backlog with CIC systems, both online and technical problems with the phone system so I would imagine its causing all kinds of delays.

My appeal was allowed one week after the hearing. Minister's counsel tried to be difficult during the hearing but gave in to the overwhelming evidence. I think it will be middle of next year when my wife is able to join me in Canada

Heloo every one we never get hearing date but we recived a later frome IAd ofice thy said submit your on going proof of relationship my lawyers said i saw 1st time without hearing date they said sumbit proof so my qustion is is it normal or not please share with me if any have experience we are realy confuse please reply me .thanks

Hello. Won appeal Aug 10 2018. Received request letter for new medical and criminal records on Oct 3. They received our documents on Oct 23 and our application is in queue to be reviewed for security

Hello everyone...no one can reply me but still I am share my questions on this forum so please little bit help me
I Appeal hearing was on 27 September 2018 and on the spot they tell us that you win your appeal and we send a letter to you after one week so on 16 October I receive the letter in which they says that we allowed your appeal and they also directed to immigration that you must continue his application
Now I check on cic website status of my application but show nothing so can anyone told me that’s what’s the next please understand me the next steps and or it’s Normal

Wait for the request letter but if you haven't moved since you originally applied you should only need to submit your current country
