hi all

I am really sad and don't know what to do...yesterday my husband had an interview in Ghana and the woman that interviewed him did not even allow him to respond when she asked a question.. she would cut him off and tell him what she thought
she was very rude and abrasive and nasty to my husband. she did not id herself or wear a badge

she said a lot of stupid things about me like I have never worked all my life. that I am borrowing money from my friends to feed myself and to send to him. that I don't have an education and that what I have told him is lies. I have a diploma for addictions counsellor but she does not believe it, and i have worked more then she knows. she told him off every time he tried to talk and jus made up her own answers that are bizarre and just plain ridiculous. it made no sense, she treated my husband like he was some kind of garbage and she told him that he is just using me to get to Canada. she also complained because I send him money to help him out and she said that he is ripping me off and that he should not take my money because I have to borrow that from friends and that I am too poor.
she even complained because when I was in Ghana we went to a casino there and she told him that we should not go to a casino because I have no money and I am just wasting my money and I should not throw my money away.......

the last time I checked it was my money and if I want to send my husband something so he can eat or go to a casino I don't think that it is her right to say anything about that....

the entire interview was bias and even with all the messages we provided 1500 pages double sided and letters from his mother and friends she still said we are fake... she then took his birth certificate which she told him was also not real that he changed his age on it because I am older then him and his Waec and also the affidavit he had because the date of birth on the waec was not correct and he went to court to get the affidavit because if the error on the school record.... she refused to believe it and kept them from him

after that she took all the messages and pictures and shoved them in a bag and told him it was nonsense "take this nonsense and get out of my office"

she also told him she would not give him the visa
she said that "your wife can get a lawyer... but she has no money to afford that and even if she does appeal and win I will not ever give you the visa

I am so angry with this she treated our relationship like it was nothing and my husband the same way


it makes me sick to think that someone could even do something like this and that they can just keep us apart because she thinks such stupid nonsense

help I really need help with this

WOW ... and I thought our interviewer was bad.

File the appeal. Don't worry, according to my lawyer, the interviewer will not be the same person to review your case after you win your appeal. Her statement "I will not ever give you the visa" is like the rest of her comments ... ridiculous.

In the meantime, continue to keep all your chat records, etc.

I am so sorry about what our friend went through.I do respect those Visas Officers, especially that they are a lot things they know and see that we do not see (behind closed doors). However this way that man was treated is not fair.even if he might not be eligible.I am so sad that some Visas officers might be held by personal emotions than looking on facts. a Visas officer is like a judge,thus he/shoud not let be hold by personal emotions.
back on facts that she hold your documents here is what I know about their process/policies:
I quote ''Officers may keep contentious or questionable documents on file during processing. If officers rely
on a document to refuse an application, they will keep it on file, microfilm or microfiche after
finalization.'' end of quote.

If you feel that your relation is real the appeal as some colleagues suggested you.and if you win the Visas officer won't be able to deny you.
Personally I saw in my notes a visas officer saying that there is so much erase on my marriage certificate which was not true because the erase was just on my Family name since it was misspelled and Icouldnt accept to take it that way.byt that correction resulted in ''a lot of erase''. however the VO are human as we all make mistake.so take hurt if you guys you are in real love you will make your way.we can't put aside their judging too, since nowadays they are a lot of spouses that gives a Bye bye to their sponsors a few months after they landed.but i your case it is not the case since she misstreated both the sponsor and he applicant.it was just personnal emmotions.
keep heart. youw ill make it and you are not alone. I don't know much on appealing process but for sure here you will get people who crossed same storm and managed to arrive safely.all the best!

Lonelyguy ... it's not OK for visa officers to mistreat any applicant under any circumstance. I don't care what they see behind closed doors. It's their job to view every case objectively.

Think of a police officer. They see a lot of bad things every day. Is it OK for them to randomly arrest and abuse someone because they have experienced similar things in the past. Is it OK for a Federal Judge to condemn someone because they have seen similar circumstances before.

All these professionals are expected to act objectively. If they do not, there is a public outcry and the individuals are reprimanded.

There is no such outcry at the behavior of the visa officers at the CIC. It is a real oversight!

The impact these unprofessional visa officers are having on our lives is far more dramatic than being locked up in a jail cell for one night because a police officer doesn't like the way you look. Real people are losing YEARS of their lives because of these visa officers. I mean literally ... 5 or 8 years separated from your spouse ... for no good reason.

I am in Newmarket Ontario, and I have already emailed my MP's office with all the details as well as the immigration office, and the PM too.

I have also spoken with a lawyer and will most certainly be appealing whatever decision this heartless monster comes to. She thinks she can just run an interview this way and it is ok to do it, well I do not and I want my husband with me. I realize they have a job to do, but this so called interview was more then absurd, and the woman should not hold such a job when she conducts interviews this way.

I am still waiting for the email to be sent from them, with the decision, even though I know what it is......this decision was made way before my husband even entered the building. I guess she will take as long as she pleases to send us that too.

I just can't believe that someone can be that nasty and have no compassion at all for the separation we are forced to endure.

and to think you pay money to go through this biased process and wait for months and months, then you finally hear something from them!

only to be told a bunch of nonsense and to be looked at like you are nothing but liars and cheats only because she thinks this not because of proof of it.

Dont worry about it at all... now you just wait until the confirm that they receive your application to appeal and after that you will get the blue book files from the IAD....but in the mean time gather as much evidence as you can to help prepare you for the ADR or Full Hearing. Go over everything with your spouse to make sure that you are on the same page.

after winning an appeal it can take as long as 2-8 months to get visa after that but seen a couple ppl take longer than 8 months also so it really depends on which immigration officer is dealing with your application. And remember that the background check can hold up a person application also... So just hang in there... The greatest thing is that you won your appeal.

Congratulations, it's a big move! I'm waiting for my scheduling conference on March 1. May I ask if anything at all was mentioned, except setting the hearing date? And did they say anything about personalities, who will be hearing you appeal from IAD, and CBSA lawyer?

BUT I AM LIVING IN INDIA AND JUST COZ OF BAD IMMIGRATION OFFICER I HAD TO STAY AWAY FROM MY SON .
HE IS 4 NOW.
I HOPE THEY SENT ME PASSPORT REQ SOON.
