So far waiting for 19 months... no word from IAD. It maybe faster if your case is selected for ADR.

Hi Vlil,

did you send your evidences to IAD? So you can get full hearing soon.

I am not sure when you start sending evidence.

Maybe you can send them as soon as you get the blue book and you can get ADR.

Thanks.

Yes, I did. All received by IAD and CBSA 4 moths ago. 5.5 lbs of paper... ::) Accompanied with a cover letter, which, among other things, contained a request of the appeal status. Never got any reply. Apparently no one bothered to read... or they simply have nothing to say. Marked February 1 for myself, to send another request (unless I hear something from them in these upcoming 2 weeks).

I really hope so.

I think it is very possible. In my case chances for ADR were very low, so I didn't bother much. Anyway, it cannot hurt. If you don't get ADR, you simply send more evidence later.

Hey Vlil how are you doing.... I sorry to hear that you are waiting 19 months now and you have now heard anything from IAD office. this is what you can do. Call the IAD office in Vancouver because they are the ones dealing with your file. Ask them for your case worker number. They should be able to give it to you. Your case worker is the one that is dealing with your file and any information you want about your file they should be able to answer your questions. Everyone files is assigned to a case work once your file get to the IAD office... Try that and see if you can get any information on your case...............Maddants

Thanks Maddants for your info. I'm doing well (otherwise from the appeal).
I have my case officer's name on previous correspondence, but no extension phone #. Anyway, when it comes to such a serious things, I prefer to communicate in writing. Phone calls don't leave any trace. Maybe I'm paranoid ;D but that's my life experience. And now I'm just waiting until the end of January - that's the point they mentioned previously for my hearing to be scheduled.

Hey Vlil i know what you are saying but right now it does not make any sense you not use a phone to call IAD office because someone can trace your call..... The funny thing as that is that they can trace a person email message also... This is your life we are talking about to go be with your spouse and family so if i was you i would try and use all means of communication to find out what is going on with this appeal... Been paranoid is ok but that just limits a person ability to do certain things.....That just my opinion though......Good luck with your appeal hearing when it comes because we all been in the same boat you are in right now at one point in time.

Deep33 no one knows how a case get approve for ADR hearing... According to IAD if your case can be resolve withing 1hr or less then you will get an ADR hearing. If a person get ADR it take about 6-8 month to have the hearing once appeal process is started....

I was not clear I guess... you impression is totally inside out. :) I do want any communication to/from IAD to leave trace/hard copy. To avoid something like "oh, we never said that... oh, you never asked for that..." later.
Fax messages work very well for that, always leaving a hard copy and a transmission report.
Sorry about that confusion.
