@bbccanada- thank you for your words of encouragement. Just think we have been married since feb 2008 but I was living overseas and took 18 months to put a Canadian application in.
I need a stamp quickly... This has been an incredibly long process for us.
My husband did not receive his all his original documents back (His birth certificate, baptismal certificate and school records). We forgot to ask about it during the appeal thus we are hoping he'll get them back with the pr ???

@canadianwoman thank you for your words of experience. I just wish there was consistency in the way they process the applications and some accountability when things are clearly done so wrong

I am in brampton and my husband is in india, our case also got rejected on the day of interview, can u guide with your lawyer i also want to appeal.We r in too much of pain rite now.

you need to make sure you file the appeal as soon as possible. It needs to be done within 30 days after receiving rejection letter. It then becomes a horrible waiting game. If you get an ADR count on 6 months approx after you receive the notes and full Hearing will be about 2 years. Keep in mind, timelines change a lot. Try to keep busy !!!!

Im sorry, I dont know timeline for Montreal. Go intrview a couple of Immigration lawyers/consultants. Many will give you free consultation. When I checked here in Toronto, most consultants wanted $5,000.00 to appeal (you can do it on your own but risky)

How can an application be in queue for revies almost 21/2 months after interview was done in November. Thanks in advance

My appeal case was successful in Sept 2012 and the file was sent back to Abu Dhabi visa office for processing. After that there is no news from Abu Dhabi office nor the case has been updated on ECA. what are the next steps? How do I proceed?

not much you can do at this time.

I won my appeal in August 2012. I went to my MP (member of Parliament) to guide me further. Just make sure you keep proof of ongoing relationship.

It is largely ANOTHER waiting game.

They will telll you that successful appeals go to the front of the line but my experience has shown that it is not the case. the important thing is that you won

I really need help.I applied under the common law spouse in Canada and we submitted our application February 24th 2012. We received a refusal letter that we dis not cohabit for 1yr before the application was filed, no details as to why they came to that conclusion. Meanwhile, I have a pending PRRA and H&C application. CBSA letter came advising me that a decision have been made to come in their office next week Wednesday. The issue here is we strongly believe there is an error in the sponsorship refusal. I lived alone in a small apartment since 2008 and my partner only moved in with me in dec of 2010. We decided to look for a bigger apartment and didn't see any need to add his name on the lease. We finally moved in September of 2011 and we both signed the lease. Our Tax declaration for 2010 shows our marital status as living common law. We both signed statutory declaration of common law relationship.
My question is, will CBSA officer consider the fact that an appeal has been made and not issue a deportation date?
Any advice will be highly appreciated.

mine took about 8 weeks. I have heard from others 4 weeks. If you dont get anything by the end of February, start calling them. You have 30 days to file appeal once you receive the letter of rejection.

quick question, u said about odsp, is the reason of the refusal its because u owe tax from the revenue??? just want to make sure what was the reason on the refusal, if u owe some payment on tax for the revenue ,though u have arrangement will it still be the grounds of

no i didn't owe no money to revenue....but at the interview she said she is refusing cause iam odsp and that i wont be able to support him once he gets to canada and he will end up going on welfare....
