Lots here have done, there is a tracking spreadsheet to get an idea of timelines. Most (~80%) are done in less than a year in normal times, and getting back to normal despite COVID. A fair number get done considerably quicker.Has anyone sponsored spouse from abroad to live in Canada recently? I would like to see if anyone has recent experience with this. I'm a Canadian citizen living in the States, considering moving back with my US wife. I'm just hesitant to move my whole life, in case she doesn't get a visa, or in case the process is like it was in the early 2000's, i.e 2-3 years for spouses.
Thankful for any pointers.

Ours was done in one year despite hitting the worst of covid delays. (Spouse from country with more serious security checks than USA too)
If you are living abroad when you apply, you'll need to show some evidence of intent to return to Canada. If from Isa of course you can apply and move whenever, with your spouse entering Canada with you - just wouldn't have the right to work until pr status complete.
There are some more nuanced bits but will just keep this short.
