Hi All:

My first application was refused in interview and at the ADR, after that I withdrew the application for full hearing, I re-submitted the application, and now waiting, what are the chances this time?

Here are my timelines:

Timeline for 1st sponsorship Application:

Application sent to Mississauga: June 2011
Application Transferred to Rabat: September 2011
e-CAS status changed to "Medical Results have been received": January 2012
Interview: March 2012 (Refusal letter received via email next day)
Appealed: March 2012
ADR Hearing: September 2012 (Refused and proceeded to full hearing in November 2012, but I withdrew the application in October for full hearing)

Timeline for second sponsorship application:
Application sent to Mississauga: June 2013
Application Transferred to Rabat: July 2013

In the first week of August 2013, requested for copy of Marriage Certificate and translation from Rabat even though it was submitted with the application along with the certified translation when the application was sent to Mississauga, anyways, couriered those next day.

e-CAS status changed to "Medical Results have been received": Late August 2013

What did your Caips notes say?? If you can counter every negative point they stated in the first refusal, then you should be successful ... of course you must also show that you have maintained your relationship and add additional proof....can you give us a bit more information to why you were rejected?

PL Dont mind what is the reason of ur first application refusal in interview ?

Their main concern is that I married to her in just short period of time, basically my friend introduced her to me in Feb and after talking to her and her family vise versa, we went ahead to get married.

What is an adult interdependent relationship?

The Adult Interdependent Relationships Act outlines two possible ways for such a relationship to exist.

If you have entered into a written Adult Interdependent Partner Agreement with the other person. (Please note: if two people are related by either blood or adoption, they must enter into such an Agreement in order to be considered adult interdependent partners.)

or

If you are not related by blood or adoption, and you have:
a.lived with the other person in a ‘relationship of interdependence’ for at least 3 consecutive years; or
b.lived with the other person in a ‘relationship of interdependence’ for less than three years, but the relationship is of some permanence and there is a child of the relationship (either by birth or adoption).

The Adult Interdependent Relationships Act defines a ‘relationship of interdependence’ as a relationship outside of marriage in which two people:

share one another’s lives;
are emotionally committed to one another; and
function as an economic and domestic unit.

The relationship does not have to be conjugal (sexual) to meet these criteria; it can be platonic.




So I dont understand what the VO is saying..it is impossible to meet this definition of interdependent relationship when you live in a different country!!!

If this is true, then perhaps they are looking to see whether both partners share a common set of principles financially, socially, physically and emotionally. That is, both persons are equal participants.

I think she mentioned in another post that she was supporting him financially- perhaps they felt he is 'dependent' on her?
If she's on disability - perhaps, this is what they mean by "physically"? Would be awful if true.
Socially - are they of similar educational background? That is, would their social circles mesh?
Emotionally - hmm... did they want to see 'lovey dovey' messages? Or perhaps they didn't see enough of emails/text msgs, etc showing that they are supportive of each other emotionally?

Who knows really with CIC? @ waitingonforever, so sorry to hear this. Can you get his GCMS notes? That should have more information.

SO sorry to hear this. Well double rainbow is right. You have 30 days after you receive refusal letter to file an appeal.

we sent all that kind of stuff picture of all 8 times going to Jamaica to visit him..sent my old passport with only trips to Jamaica in it..one picture has us laying in bed fully clothed mind you..giving each other a quick peck..we have tried for a TRV and denied because of family ties to Canada "ME" another issue wich the husband tried to explain was my sons medical problems..he is Autistic and he didnt recall the proper word for it but explained it to them how he is and behaves and the symptoms..they had stated at his interview he should know the WORD if he knows my children...asfar as that goes..he knew his problems but could not remember the TECHNICAL diagnosis.

i'm the applicant (wife) my husband is the sponsor. (we were approved for the sponsorship 1 1\2 yrs ago) He came to visit me & stayed here. he is a canadian citizen. but now he is in my country for 5 1\2 months. now they ask us to prove that how we suppose to survive once we come to canada.

Hello I was hoping someone could shed some light on my case.
We received a refusal letter on the 29th of September, due to the fact that the representative that we were using did not submit some documentation after we had signed it not once but twice. We did remove her as our representative before we got the refusal letter but had no idea that this document was outstanding. anyhow I have lots of proof to back our end except the receipt that she indeed did send the document. I and just sent an appeal to Vegreville today. and am wondering what will happen next and how long it will take to hear anything back. The reason for refusal was not due to legitimate relationship so I am wondering if we have any chances. I am furious with the Immigration Consultant and cant even begin to describe the nerves I feel. Any help form anyone please!!!

i also was refused as i have not sent the required document when they asked from me. if you are dont mind send me a personal msg & tell me what are the documents you have not sent. so i'll tell you what you should do now. but you have to appeal first within 30 days from the date, the letter you got from the CIC office in your country. they excepted my documents when i sent them back to them

I applied for the appeal in March 2012
Notes received in June 2012 (I forgot the exact date but close to the end of 180 days)
Date for ADR hearing received in August 2012 (or end of July, i forgot the exact date)
ADR: First week of September 2012 (was told for refusal same day)
Refusal letter confirmation 1 week after and scheduled for end of November 2012 for full hearing, but I withdrew my appeal and application in October 2012.

All the above are for Vancouver, maybe different for other cities.

May I ask, whats the reason of your refusal?

Singapore don't want to issue police clearance for foreigners, they need a letter from embassy requesting for certificate of clearance. Second, the police clearance that i sent from my country don't have my thumb mark, and lastly My NBI certificate is a photocopy only. Do you think from this my papers will be refused? Help please.. i'm so worried already.

hi,to avoid future problems,can you get new nbi clearance with finger print?..it is important..and about the police crt in singapore,that was once i read in 1applicant,when his wife's paper was started in processing,they were asked to submit police crt from singapore& was given 60 days to comply or else would be refused..
