Sandy 22 g confirm one more thing here - For PSK issued PCC, will there be any physical verification done at address mentioned in passport. As this was the case for one I inititated last month from SSP office. If yes, then this request is routed to your area Police Station or what?

PSK will initiate a verification only if your passport was issued more than 2 years ago. Otherwise you'll get it right on the spot.

The verification will be at the address mentioned in your passport and will be routed to your area Police Station same as we get passport inquiry.

You'll need to collect it in person from PSK once you get an SMS that PCC is ready.

I belong to Chandigarh and am waiting for an ITA with CRS of 451. I hope to get ITA in coming draws. Meanwhile I am getting my docs ready. I have a couple of questions, if YOU GUYS CAN HELP ME.

1. My daughter 's birth certificate is in Punjabi. Can someone plz guide with the translation process as to what all needs to be done.
2. My permanent address is of punjab and my passport - which was issued 1 and 1/2 years back - has also this punjab address. I moved to Chandigarh an year back. I have all the address proofs of Chandigarh address. Now for my PCC at PSK, will I be issued PCC same day or will verification be done . If verification, then which address Punjab address or Chandigarh address.

Somebody plz help me with these queries. Wish u all the best for the PR process.

Well in my case I applied from PSK Chd but they gave negative report as I was living on gurgaon since last 5 yrs or so...hence Chd PSK dint give me PCC...I again applied from gurgaon PSK...I manged to get rent agreement here in gurgaon though I lived in PG...again police verification was done...my rent agreement was accepted and I got my PCC in next 3 days...however on my passport my address was mentioned the one I have in Chd only...police will verify your "current address". Whichever u use while you apply online...and if u provide the one on ur passport, make sure u are available at that address the day police official cones to verify u...

Not sure about translation process.. May be someonr at notary in mohali could help u on this.

Further when u apply for PCC at PSK online make sure to provide ur current address...of course u should have pakka proofs of ur current address...then ur Police verification would be fine and u will get PCC. Dont go bya address mentioned on ur passport where u don't live anymore...in that case if police conducts verification on that address.. They will surely send "adverse police verification report"...happening that your PCC will be denied by passport office and lots of pain to cancel ur application plus fine of Rs. 5000.

You need to get a certified translation done from a public notary. You need to carry original Birth certificate of your daughter for certified translation. While submitting your e-APR, you need to submit scanned copy of Punjabi Birth certificate as well as certified translation together.

Since you are currently residing in Chandigarh and you have valid proofs pertaining to that, it is recommended to get your PCC from PSK Chandigarh only. While applying for same, specify Chandigarh address and attach applicable document per passportindia website checklist. IMO, your current address is different from one mentioned in passport, so it's highly likely that police personnel will visit your current address (Chandigarh) for verification.

I understand you have been living in Gurgaon for quite some time and that's pretty much the case with most of us. I'm surprised to hear that they out-rightly rejected your PCC and gave negative report.

Actually my job requires lot of touring. Though my company office is in Gurgaon butI dont even stay in Gurgaon for more than 2-3 days a week. On weekends I am at chandigarh only 9 times out of 10. However, unfortunately the day police man came to see me, I was on tour to Mumbai. Hence, coudnt meet him. He called me on my phonr and inquired me about my job. I did not lie and said that I am working in Gurgaon based company, but I dont stay at Gurgaon much since I am on tour most of the times. He said OK. After 10 days My status at Passport oseva kendra website showed me that My police verification is not clear and I need to contact Regiona passport office (RPO) at Chandigarh. This RPO is different from PSK. I went there, met Regional passport officer after 2 days of wait. He slapped Rs. 5000/- fine on me due to misrepresentation and cancelled my application from Chd PSK.

Then I had to make an address proof in Gurgaon which was luckily accepted at Gurgaon PSK. Police verification was again done upon me, two of my neighbours signed my police verification report as "someone knowing me" since last one year or so. Then after 3 days I got my PCC.

However, anyone here dont go by my way. NO NEED TO BE TRUTHFUL, ESPECIALLY If You do not have address proof of your current address by virtue of living in a PG or shared accommodation, apply from the place from where you can show your valid address proof, even if YOUR CURRENT ADDRESS IS SOMEWHERE ELSE. The only thing you need to take care about is not to leak your current address in front of the verifying police man AND BE PRESENT AT THAT ADDRESS DURING POLICE VERIFICATION. The police man will call you before visiting you. Yes you can lie. This is India, police station in India do not have data base connectivity with another police station in some other city of India. Take my words, Indian police JUST CANT LOCATE YOUR CURRENT ADDRESS IF YOU DONT TELL THEM YOURSELF. Tell them that you live at this address for which you have address proofs, get verification form signed by couple of neighbours, give some "charity" to police man and you are through.

This is all about getting PCC from Indian PSK. And I seriously doubt if they actually check your criminal record at all.

Go to Notary place and ask for translator. i think they all are authorized to translate it or they ll send you to the right person. I got it done from Mohali District Court. They have format ready, just need to enter names, validate all the documents and if everything ok ll provide the translated document to you.

It should be 3 weeks. If police personnel have submitted their report on time, you will receive SMS from PSK to collect PCC earlier as well. Good Luck!!
