umm ... why aren't the email notifications working? should i be able to see when the medicals have reached phillipines/singapore ? im sorry im a little tense since im buying the tickets now .... ive re-submitted my passport and did the medicals at 17th .... based on the average times, how long should i have to wait?

it usually takes around 2 to 3 weeks..sumtimes even more..

I see VFS updates mostly on mondays and thursdays.. no fixed time have i noticed though..

@ Roy: Oh, Ic. I know CUAC. As they didn't recommended u to do CA assessment then I think the way we submitted our deeds is fine. As ur looking for a buddy for off campus housing u can talk about the matter with CUAC. They can match u with a buddy going to the college same as yours. Did CUAC give u any suggestion regarding how to show ties with the country we r residing? This is a very important thing to prove to get a visa.

@ azhar_sakib: CUAC can't help me about off campus living in Sault Ste Marie. I am the first experimental guinea-pig who is going Sault College by the CUAC

About ties, its better to show some property assets in your name or your parents name. These makes strong ties with the home country and increase possibilities to return home country again after finishing study in Canada. Because it is you who have to maintenance those properties physically by yourself and that's why you must have to return here again permanently. Visa officer try to find out your intention of returning back in your home country.

What you mean by known anyone in the foreign service? If i have anyone known in our foreign ministry office, that will work?

roybdsum if u know anyone there THEN GO FOR IT they need to say your acknowledge number ( its in d receipt)n give reference in Singapore they then give your passport more priority, i have seen it myself i had none for any reference n now am struggling
the better your reference, the better the chances n faster the response so go for it if anyone such is there

from where did you buy your ticket ?? any airlines office ?? qatar office told me that i must have the passport with me to purchase.....

its right better to buy from the travel agents bt just to let u know did the office tell u of their flight plan ? becoz Qater stays for about 18 hours in Doha for which i opted that option. i brought mine from a agent so better u talk to one about flight n transit times for thats really imp

@ Roy : Thank you for your reply. It was really helpful. About the buddy matter, one of my friend applied to University of Victoria through CUAC, they helped him to match with someone going to Victoria through their link. May be they stop doing this favor now on. And I have shown properties as well as good financing with all bank supporting docs and property deeds (Sponsors are my parents). I hope that is enough to prove country ties and also for visa purpose. Lets hope for the best. Inshallah we will receive our decision soon with a positive result. Fingers Crossed. :-X

Call them(Wahab's) & tell your name....they will give you the fedex tracking code.....

i have talked about the flight plan ...its better if you land at montreal ; at trudeau , coz that way , you can save some time and quite a sum of money. I was looking at qatar , coz of the price and at restricted economy but if that isnt an option, i'd go for kuwait, coz after all its a journey, nothing more,
to all, if you have submitted ur medicals around 20th of this month i'd suggest you guys going for flexible economy coz u might have to change the date of the flight which isn;t available in economy restricted. I'll tell you the details of the flight plan/fares once i get them

I will be going to Halifax so guess timing is dif in Qautar bt anyway Emirates was d only option for me. Bty those who applied or think of applying by CUAC They R USELESS IN VISA WORK i could have applied a whole week earlier bt they made me waste time creating papers which are not needed anymore n nor could i get a date with their councilor, i got my appointment shifted 3 times n then HAD ENOUGH
VFS did not take half the things they made me create so dont reply on them better go to VFS n ask or get a private councilor there is no shortage on them in Dhaka

those thinking of living out of uni there r bangladeshis there bas keep nagging CUAC till give them theior emails n then talking will make thing easier.
