I applied at the End of June. I was confused since most people are directed to submit passport after their Medical. Thanks Dipta for clarifying
Can someone also tell me how long does the police clearance certifucate stay valid?

Six months, as far as I know.

Still waiting for my medical call. I submitted on the last week of June. Guys what do you say, shall I email the embassy about my medical call and when do they need my passport? My course starts at the end of August.

Also what documents do they require in the medical and how many and what size passport photos?

Hello !

Well I have applied for my study permit on June 27th. I haven't got any medical confirmation yet . And I've looked into many sites and I found out that there's PAFSO strike going on , for which there's a delay in the visa processing . Well , my classes start on September 4th . I am really worried now. What if my Visa gets delayed to the point I miss my classes ? Any suggestions? Is anybody out there who's facing the same problem ?

One of my friend who is now living in USA, said that,

he created an account in Skype using location USA and subscribe unlimited mobile/landphone call with his credit card (Cost $6.99/monthly). Then gave that Skype account to his parents back home (Bangladesh). Now his parents can call him anytime to his mobile phone using Skype from Bangladesh with zero extra cost.

scorpion_ca can u say something about this method? Is it cheap enough or have any problem?

Skype-Canada doesn't have unlimited calling subscription to BD. Here is the monthly subscription options:
60 min 3.5¢/min C$2.09/mo
120 min 3.4¢/min C$4.09/mo
400 min 3.2¢/min C$12.99/mo
800 min 3.2¢/min C$25.49/mo

I'm not too sure; but none of Canadian VOIP has unlimited calling feature to BD.

Cell Phone Carriers:
WIND has World Saver International ($8/mo) plan under which BD is $0.04/min extra
Mobilicity has Multi-Minute Long Distance of $10/mo for 350 min to BD ($0.029/min)

Got my visa approval through email today..... Alhamdulillah.... :D :D :D

Thanks to all..... & wish all of u best of luck...!!!

Thanks PMC89 and dipta.... :D Its took 64 days for me.... waiting time increasing day by day...

@Rasel would it be a good move to contact the embassy for tan123 and myself?

You can contact embassy but they won't reply you until normal processing time is finished. But sometimes they do in some cases.

yes dipta, thats what they mentioned that dont reply until the normal processing time. But I guess I will contact anyway. what details do I have to include in the email? like tracking number or sth?

Mention name ,date of birth, file number if you got any, uci number if you got any, application number if you got any, and the number you got on VFS receipt.

No. I didn't mean unlimited calling to BD... Rather I mean unlimited calling from BD to Canada... :D

My concept was buying an unlimited calling subscription for Canada using CAD 6.99 and gave that account to ur BD family members. Then ur family members from BD can call ur mobile/landphones using that skype account over internet. I think, its worth a try.. :)

Before medical call, its really hard to track an application because u don't know ur File Number, UCI Number or Application Number... If u want to use ur VFS receipt no. then I think that no. only use for VFS internal reference. U can just use ur Name and DOB. Now a days, its took around 1 month to get a medical call from Dhaka VFS. As far I know, 20 June applicants got their medical call yet.
