Hello.

If I get a student visa (Graduate level) then how to obtain a off work permit? When should I apply for it? I saw in cic.ga.ca that, I need to wait for 6 months out of 12 months to obtain a off campus work permit. That means for first 6 months I will just study without any work? Now I am really confused because if I don't work for 6 months then how will I adjust my expenses in Canada?

Those who are already Canada please help me, share your experience so that I can plan things properly. I really need to arrange some work whenever I reach there. Please share your experience with me...

You'll have to manage living+tuition for min 8 mnths...after 6 mnths u'll be eligible to apply for work permit which will take around 2 more mnths to come...then u can manage ur living xpenses.

The cost of medical examination is 3000 BDT + the shipment fee. And you only go for the medical examination when CHC asks you to do so through an e-mail.

lucky you guys as i had to pay USD 500 for medical test as i live out of BD ... in BD, it's i blieve around USD 50...

Yes. U have to keep at least 1 years tuition fee + 1 years living cost + round air ticket equivalent amount of money in ur bank account as cash/FDR which will be consider as liquid assets. There is no fixed length for keeping that money. I think, as long as u keep that money, will strength ur profile. But FDR don't need any maturity period. Beside u have to do valuation for ur properties as fixed asset.

1. Ur profile is suitable for uRegina, MUN, uSaskatchewan, uRyerson, Concordia, uLakehead, uWindsor in Course based/MEngg. Find ur luck in those universities because there is no guarantee of getting acceptance.
2. Ur FDR should be in ur Sponsor's name, like ur father.
3. If u want to declare urself as self-sponsored than money in ur account is okay, otherwise keep that in ur sponsor's account.

Need your assistance in filling out the Application Form. I am facing difficulties understanding one section (Details of Intended Study in Canada). Here are the queries:

1) Name of the School: Is it
• “School of Graduate Studies” OR
• Department name such as “School of Electrical and Electronics”/”Department of Electrical and Electronics” OR
• University Name.

2) Duration of Expected Study: I need 5 semesters. So I need around 1.6 years. But can I write whole 2 Year such as 01-Sep-2013 to 31-Aug-2015.

3) The cost of my studies will be: Should I include for both 2 years?

4) Funds available for my stay: My fund is 1) My FDR – 20lac, 2) My Land – 50lac & 3) My Sponsor – 5lac. Kindly suggest which amounts I should put. Should I show the sum of all these amounts?

5) My Expenses will be paid by: Here (as per point 4) I myself providing most of the expanses. However my sponsor is also providing partial financial support. But in the Form, there are two boxes. If I select "myself" in the first box then second box cannot be edited (to show my sponsor). On the other hand, If I select "others" in the first box than I can edit second box. Kindly suggest how should I fill out this points.

- Yes, its possible.

- Yes, make FDR and show ur father's bank statement in Saudi, but u have to took Solvency Certificate from there too.

- Yes, FDR always consider as liquid money. In-fact, I use FDR only for myself.

- Thats the basic theory. But as much u can show will consider as ur strength. There is no limit actually.

- No, just in solvency certificate request to mention that amount converting in Canadian Dollar on current currency rate. Thats it.

Adnan: In my LoA, it is written "I am pleased to inform you that you have been accepted by the school of Graduate Studies.". So I believe I can write School of Graduate Studies.
[Note: It was quite surprising to see that there is no option for putting the name of the university.]

2. Its also mentioned in ur LoA. U can't change the duration, because then it'll become a false information.
Adnan: In my LoA, it is written "The typical time to complete a Master's degree is 12-24 months; the maximum time is 48 months". Kindly suggest, what should I give as duration? Can I give 2 years?

Adnan: In the guide, it is not written any where about 1 year. Is it written anywhere else? Otherwise will provide 1 year expanse as you said.
