Any immigrant can carry $7000 with him or her. so legally you 4 are eligible to carry $28000 with you.

Hi

Do we have to take USD?
I heard there's a limitation for carrying CAD?
Do you have any idea about it?

Thanks

Dear Forum mates,
Kindly be informed that I have got the medical request on May 19, 2016 and done my medical on May 30,2016 and also forwarded all my required documents through Fedex on June 14, 2016. My ecas is now showing medical result received and mycic is showing Medical passed and background check not started. In the mean time yesterday i got a letter from Singapore office through courier where I found my & my wife's pictures and certified cheque of CAD 1100 which I gave in favor of the Receiver General of Canada during my application on 17th November, 2014. I also got a receipt where it is written the amount of CAD 1100 and the date of payment on 2015-01-13. Now I am in a confused situation. Have they cancelled my application or something else? I will be grateful to get clarification from the senior members.

I don't think this is logical! People are selling so many foreign currencies to bank legally everyday and doing vice versa. Every AD branch selling foreign currencies but depends on availability. The rule they follow is, anyone can buy any currency equivalent to US$ 7000 for non-SAARC in a calendar year. And they sell 50% in cash and rest of 50% in TC etc. So, carrying CAD$ is absolutely legal. Most of the immigrants carrying CAD$ indeed.

I've sent an email to MANILIMMIGRATION [at] international.gc.ca for solving the issue. no Response yet.

I guess, they will advice me to send the PCC via courier, directly to Manila. ( I often wish it wud be grt if they want a scanned copy only, via email ;-) instead of original hardcopy) I should be prepared to do that ASAP, after they reply my mail.
I'll wait till that. I don't think it wud be wise to take any step, before their advice.

I will wait for their email.

BTW, my ECAS has been updated : "4. Medical results have been received."

You may carry USD or CAD or both. However, carrying USD will be beneficial to you due to good exchange rate of CAD against USD in Canada.

Can you plz tell me the payment procedure in details for tickets booked through IOM.

Do they accept cheque or cash? Plz provide details.
