It took only a couple of weeks after applying to receive MR. Why wud it take a year? It's like TRV. However it's multiple entry visa by nature.

Onekdin por forum e dhuklam, actually, dom felar time e pacchina.

anyways, bought tickets of Dhaka-Doha-London-Calgary of 19th April, 2013.
Its really sad, IOM couldn't help them who are not going toronto and montreal!!! I paid lesser to the airlines than the IOM offer.

Seniors, Please suggest about the forms to be filled up about goods with us or goods following us.

Please keep us in your prayers. And congratulations to all who recently got good news like visa, MR or PPR.

It would be very nice if we can manage the fridays meeting. I have to shop and have a long list of relatives to meet. Still i'll try to manage. can't even shop due to hartal!!!!!!!

Missed a few points....the person inviting his/her parents must meet minimum income requirement as specified in CIC website as LICO or Low Income Cut Off. You also need to buy health insurance valid for at least 1 year with a minimum coverage of CAD 100,000.

Your parents/ In-laws should have some one already over there with that income range, who are inviting/ sponsoring, right?
Or you guys are sponsoring? As far as I recall, some one with social security number, valid address and that minimum income
(Total family income his+hers) with the insurance is required to avail the super visa.
Can you make clear if I am wrong? Regs

In the items to declare list during the first time entry as Permanent Resident:

Are you exempted from Canadian TAX for carrying gold ornaments ?

Nearly, all Bangladeshi family has gold ornaments. Is it a good idea for my wife & me to declare them while we are entering Canada, or should we leave them in Bangladesh in a Bank locker?

We have bought from travel agent. Price is 1,07,000 BDT per person( Dhaka to London by Qatar and London to Calgary by Air Canada). Qatar airways offered me the same but I had to pay some extra for the 2nd luggage. IOM offered 1,20,000 BDT. They said they could only provide discount advantage if the destination is toronto or montreal.

We have consulted some others but apparently it was the best I think.

While buying ticket from Qatar Airways please check the airports. There are two at London, One is Heathrow (LHR, and it has 04 terminals) and the other one is Gatwick.
If the transit for Air Canada is in the same terminal no worries, but if someone needs to change terminals or even airports he/she requires transit visa for UK and its hassle
and expensive. I am sure you are already concerned, still make sure its the same airport/ terminal. Regards

Yes, you require visa if you need to change terminals. You are allowed to carry a laptop, a camera bag, a purse and a hand luggage (07 Kg) as cabin baggage.
If you are to carry printer/ Scanner you loose your 07 KG allowance. But the issue is in every airport you are bound to go through security checks before boarding
and they get your laptops, purse everything in a separate tray and for you it would be a serious mess and headache. Its not recommended for you. More over the
power supply for Canada is 110 volts totally different than our 240 volts. Why you are planning these to carry along? Probably you can buy cheap from Kijiji or
cgreigslist or e-bay. Regards

Sorry bro. Pls. don't get us (PQR & Me) wrong. The post was not relating to get together. This was another issue. However, the venue of the friday get together was so far confirmed as BRACU roof top
