Hope and pray your flight will be on time. Turkish airways faces delay because of heavy traffic (traffic jam) at Istanbul airport. You will witness while landing or taking off.
First of all, tell while taking boarding pass, may Allah forbid- if delay then tell the cabin crew(air hostess) about your flight by showing your boarding pass so the captain will inform the Istanbul airport. (For me, one ground was waiting at the airplane door to guide me), at Istanbul you have to follow lot of formalities not like Dubai.
Yes, except hand carriers all will be given for Canada and don`t worry you will welcome your luggage at the Canadian airport.
Remember, never be nervous, you are an international passenger so will get help from all but you have to ask for that - telling you from my 23 years air travelling history.
Just to share, last year I traveled on JetBlue, there I found one nice cabin crew- I sent an appreciation email. After 2 days I was informed by his manager that the cabin crew was informed and a bonus gift given to him. My joy was they requested me to say thanks to Bangladeshis and later I got USD 50.- discount on another trip.
While going to Canada please always make appreciations not only complains.
