Dear forum members,

Urgent IOM related help needed.

Recently I talked to IOM officer Mr. Ibrahim regarding Dhaka to Toronto air fare for 2 adults & 1 infant of 5 months. He said the Turkish air fare would be about 68k for per adult and 51k for the infant. Now that's strange!! 51k for infant??!! Why?? When all the air lines normally charges only 10-15k additional for infants, why IOM charges this much??!! Then what's the benefit of booking air fare through them??! In total it equals to zero benefit..

Now, my query is, is the information correct? Anyone faced this situation before? Anyone have any idea?? Pls share..

Thanks in advance.

I'm not familiar with IOM, but it seems to me that Mr. Ibrahim told you the air fare for an infant/toddler who will occupy a seat. Generally, a child less than 2 years old is called 'infant' and thus can/must fly on lap. In that case, s/he isn't occupying a seat and is charged only ~10% of full adult fare. But parents can choose to have a seat for him/her and pay 75% (it may vary) of full air fare. FYI, 75% of 68k is exactly 51k. :D

For future reference,

0 - 2 years will pay 10% of adult fare (if they travel on lap and don't occupy any seat)
0 - 2 years will pay 75% of adult fare (if they occupy a seat)
2 - 11 years will continue to pay 75% of adult fare
>11 years will pay 100% of adult fare

Dear friends. Need some help to find a solution. If anyone can help me it will be much appreciated. Does a child(3years) need a medical test for temporary residence visa (more than 6 months stay)?? Thanks in advance

Can you explain how this child is planning to stay more than 6 months with a regular TRV?

On a regular TRV, as far I know, no one is allowed to stay in Canada for more than 6 months. And medical is normally not required to obtain this type of visa. For a child, you may need to show proof of vaccines taken though.

I confirmed my tickets recently at 69k per adult from DHK to REGINA Via ISTANBUL & Toronto in Turkish. Also I choose a 5 days layover at Toronto (To explore the city!). IOM price seems costly in that sense. What are their additional offer? generous luggage allowance means how much?

Thanks

Got my file transfer mail. how many time to get mr from sgvo? senior pls comments

আসসালামু আলাইকুম,

Make sure that all your check-in luggage are covered for the domestic flight from Toronto to Regina. Generally, it's $25-$30 per luggage with all domestic airlines here.

Also, drop by Bangla area on Danforth-Victoria and have a lunch/dinner. Since you're going to Regina, this won't be very common and you would know that Bangladesh exists somewhere. You can even pack some Bangladeshi food for your next flight.

I'm pretty sure you've already planned a day trip to Niagara Falls. It's less than 2 hours drive from Toronto. If you have kids, you may extend your stay for another day and visit Marineland (opens on May 20 though).

I have a recreation section in my Toronto thread: https://goo.gl/JR1WTQ

Hi. About point #2, any lawyer who claims he can give assurance on provincial nomination must be avoided. A decision of nomination is made by the corresponding province. No lawyer can honestly guarantee on it, nor influence the decision. Please avoid such loop-holes.

Hello,
Sorry for asking some rudimentary questions. We(me, my husband and our two year old son) are planning to start the immigration process in Canada. My queries are following-

1. we have completed our ECA and IELTS. My husband did not get band score 7 in all categories, so he has sat again for the exam. Can we start our express entry profile right away or should we wait till he can manage 7 band score in all segments of IELTS.

2. we talked to an immigration consultant. they told us for assuring provincial nomination we need to apply through a lawyer who is going to charge us a lot of money. How helpful is having a lawyer for securing provincial nomination or we can do it ourselves? as the instructions are clearly written and as I can see from some previous post most of the people here have done it all by themselves

3. My husband is insisting me to be the principal applicant because for age difference I can get 28 point extra. but his job experience is of solid 8 years with all the documents. I, on the other hand had an inconsistent job life of 3 years with no payment slips. can having more years of job experience can increase our chance of selection? in preassesment I found they score all the years after 3years of job experience same.

4. the latest pulling score I saw is 423 at least. our combined preassesment score is 401 when I am principal applicant and 391 when Hubby is principal applicant. If we apply with this scores is there a chance to get provincial nomination and increase our score or do we have to increase our score before hand and then complete the express entry profile?

Thankyou for taking time to read my questions.

Thanks rossei for your pleasant information.

Yes, I have planned to visit niagara falls. I will be residing in HAMILTON and from YYZ will go there directly. Will keep marineland in plan too. I dont have kids yet so 4-5 days stopping by will be enough, I guess.

Pray for our safe landing and smooth integration at SK.

Hope to meet you in future, if possible. Regards

Hello All, Salam Alaikum

I just came across this forum while trying research more about immigrating to Canada

I have already created an EE profile couple of days back and my CRS score is shown as 366. Can anyone advise what are my chances to secure ITA? If not, how can i improve my score. My IELTS score is 7. ECA is done. What are the chances of the current ITA score to go down below 400. Latest ITA score was 415, I reckon

Also I would be greateful if anyone can help in guiding me on the current opportunities in procurement sector, especially in Canadian Oil and Gas Sector where an international experience Guy like can apply
I have a IT degree (4 Years) from UK as well as two IT diplomas from Scotland. I have 10 years UAE experience as procurement specialist/Manager in Oil and Gas Field.

Thanks in advance

Try for SINP/NSPNP/NBPNP or Atlantic Immigration Pilot nomination. ITA based on CRS will not come down 400 in foreseeable future.

Hi fellow experts,

I am new in this forum, & getting the PR is my mothers dream more than mine, I really want to make her dream come true.

Anyway, I have a critical situation considering my ECA. I really hope if someone can clear off my confusion here. thank you so much in advance : )

I have completed 4 years Bachelor's of Science in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, the dilemma is that although it is written 4 years Bachelors degree in my certificate but as our Education system is open credit basis, I have been able to complete my entire course within 3.5 Years (I have transferred my credit from one university to the second university- I did my first year in this first university & 2.5 years in the second).

So do you think, they might not give me recognition of 3 years or more Bachelor degree equivalent of Canadian degree cause of this or less ?

Second issue is that my first university gave me only one temporary transcript mentioning all the credits I have done there with grades- but I only have the photocopy of this temporary transcript- the original is not with me. & also note that this photocopy has been tick marked & made numbered mistakenly beside the grades by my current university during my admission. But all the subjects & grades can be identified by looking at this now a little dirty transcript.

So should I send this photo copy to WES too after attested? I am very concerned whether they might accept it or not ?

Also note that I have received original transcript from my second university with all the subjects that I have done here, but for the subjects I have done in my first university- they have just mentioned the subjects under waived credit lists without any grades.

Any advice in these circumstances will mean a lot to me. thanks

Hello, as far as I know wes does not except anything except true copy of your certificates and transcript- which is attested by university in a sealed envelope. you should deliver the true copy to wes without opening it. please talk with your both universities- they prepare documents for wes evaluation on regular basis. they can tell you if the first university can arrange true copies for your accomplished credits.
