munnabd said:Hey everybody,
I have a few questions regarding proof of funds. I remembered about this now that everyone is talking about fund and net worth problems. Please read following and see if you can help.
I put all my money in a single current account which i opened about 2 months before sending application to CIO. Now, problem is what do I do when SGVO asks for 12 months statement. My account has been open for less than 12 months. Is this a problem?
Secondly, I had the money transferred at once into my current account and haven't made any deposits or withdrawals for past 5 months in this account. My question is, whether SGVO wants to see fluctuations (deposits, withdrawals) in balance. Does anyone have any experience or idea as to what I should do and what exactly is the purpose of 12 months bank statement. What would they like to see?
Finally, is the source of fund a factor for consideration ? The money was deposited at once into my current account by another party. This amount isn't a loan or anything like that. Do you think I have to explain why this party deposited money and do I have to prove that this is not a debt/loan but is my money? If you think I have to prove it, then in that case do you think I should send out any proof I have along with bank statement before they ask for proof or do I wait and try my luck and first find out if they care.
Please help.

Munna bhai, sgvo clearly mentioned in my letter that they want to see bank statement of all the bank accounts i hold. Statements must show deposit & credit transactions.. So i guess u can show your other account statements that are active. If your net worth statement shows that your cash equivalent assset is more than minimum required POF then u dont need to provide a proactive justification. As u just applied in feb'11 i would advise u to do FDRs of the POF amount to be on safe side. Later you can provide them bank stmts and FDR stmts when they ask..
