Dear Members,

Almost all of us are going through an undefined waiting phase and i was trying to divert my mind from all the tension. While doing so, a question came up in my mind. I am placing it here for all who can put some light on it.

As we are trying to migrate as skilled workers, we will have to participate in the race of getting a job (In Shaa Allah in we can get the visa). Being main applicant, i did my ECA. Can anybody tell me whether ECA is needed or not for applying for job in Canada for those who completed their education outside of Canada?

Your reply will really be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Wow...are you really here :)? Anyway can yo pls inform me about your Fee Encashed Date & PER date? And would you pls update your status in Global SS. Put your name in the AOR area. :) :).

Now coming to your question. Now July application is under initial review. A confirmed report came about initial review of a July 25 applicant on Feb 04. So my guess is that by March they will start August applicant.

Have contact atleast for the sake of updating the Global SS.
Apu,
my wife's file has been received by CIC on 03/06/2014. She got PER on 29/09/2014 and AOR on 10/11/2014. What would be the tentative date of reviewing the files of the applicants of june then? Im really really confused, worried and hopeless....

Hi Piklu99,
That was a really informative post you've posted. Thanks a lot and +1 (+100 if I could give to you).
Could you give reference of a bank that will issue bank draft in my name. Can I have the bank draft of 8k USD in my name only rather than my spouse?

ECA is for immigration purpose only. This is not for job.

I think you should raise a CSE asking them about the application status and also order GCMS notes.

Survival Job/Professional Work

New Canadians have widely different family circumstances and financial needs. No timeline exists that is right for all families and individuals. Below is a list of three reasonable options that are helpful to review. These job goals probably match the short-term, medium-range, and long-term goals that you could outline for yourself. Economic factors will determine some of your choices.

If you wish to work in your profession in the long-term, you must continue to work on your long-range plans while you are working at a Survival Job. Set some realistic goals for ways to get closer to your long-term job goal, and then focus on the short or medium range job that will help you to get closer to work in your profession.

Survival Job

A survival job is a job not related to your profession. For many newcomers survival work is their first step into the labour market. Survival work can be helpful in generating income while you settle your family, learn English and have your credentials assessed. It may be helpful in developing your network, building your understanding of the Canadian workplace, and connecting with your community.

Work through the information and resources contained in this Job Search website and connect with an employment counsellor to work towards a survival job as a part of your short-term planning.

Related Work

Like survival work, work related to your profession can keep you afloat financially while you work on your long-term goals. Work related to your field can more effectively move you towards your long-term goals. It will help to build your knowledge of your chosen sector in Canada and provide an opportunity to build up sector contacts and references.

Finding related work will require a higher level of English communication as well as higher-level job-searching skills, which will require greater planning and communication with your employment counsellor.

Professional Work

Your ability to return to working in your profession will require not only extremely high English skills but highly tuned communication skills overall. You will have explored and completed any licensing and credentialing required and will likely have some Canadian experience in your field, though related or volunteer work.

Finding and maintaining professional work requires highly advanced job-search skills. You will likely have a well-developed professional network, are involved in professional or community clubs or associations and have mentors advising you along the way. Canadian professionals develop ambitious “life-long learning” approaches to keep up with best practices and maintain your skills and standing in the field.

Reaching this level in communication, licensure and job-searching skills requires a lot of work, patience and planning. Again, your employment counsellor and professional mentors will be important in guiding you to reach your long-term goals.

Whether you are working on your short-, medium- or long-term plans we suggest using the information and resources provided in our Job-Search website, and the partnership provided by an employment counsellor, in working your way through the steps required to reach your goals.

Ashif bhai is right,

You can't make any international DD from Bangladesh except any visa fee related. Even we can't pay any TT for buying material from Bangladesh except Back to Back Letter of Credit (L/C) issued by main LC from foreign customer.

So brother your amount has indorse in your passport against the fee you have paid for "RPRF" (I hope so) for two persons.

Please check and confirm us dear :) :) :)

From Bangladesh it is difficult but possible however you can contact with your bank they will guide how it will be possible.

From SCB for generally they will ask you to pay CAD25 for DD encashment information from Canadian Royal Bank. :) :) :)

If you have anyone in Canada then through below link you can order GCMS. It'll cost $5 only. Read everything carefully. It'll take one month from the date of submission.

https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=singapore

If you don't have anyone in Canada then order through below link. It'll cost you $30 then. It may take 1/1.5 month.

And below is the link for CSE....

Initial review means after receiving file from CIC, VO will go through each & every docs and will check again. CIC only checks whether you have provided all the docs that they have asked for. And whether your payments are ok or not. Means whether you have submitted a complete application or not. When they are satisfied they declare your application as "ELIGIBLE". Rest all are in VO's hand.
