Dear Mates,

Hope to fly on 26th April by Turkish. Want to get some opinions of you guys:

1. What forms need to be filled in to show at POE?

2. Should we carry mostly CAD? Any particular advantage of it over USD?

3. About official shoes, considering the weather, what shoes can last long? I already bought some snickers from Lotto, seems good.

4. About suitcase, any particular brand? From where? Price Range? Are many of you considering bring Cartoons instead of suitcases? What would be the size and from where to get them? Is it safe?

5. Getting any temporary insurance for the first 3 months? From where? Cost and procedure please.

Thanks to you all and good luck.

You can carry CAD but you can not endorse, and if you carry USD you loose in conversion. We decided on carrying mostly CAD but a part as endorsed USD.

Snickers should be okey if is in leather. I think Lotto is Korean. You can explore hush puppies, Apex shoes with heavy gripped sole, good on snow. You can also look for woodland (high-neck shoes), RED Tape, RBK, Sketchers, CAT these would last long. Again you can buy decent shoes from there as well.

For suitcase Indian President and VIP are good brands available in Newmarket from dealers with fixed price, there are Chinese brands with fixed prices as well: Aristocrat, Marks, Polo etc and also you can buy Pierre Cardin or American Tourists or Samsonite which would be atleast double the price from Indian or Chinese. These all are available at Shabagh (Janatar Moncho, IPGMR) or at New Market. Some good second hand staff are available at Baitul Mokarram Under the Mosque. We virtually agreed on taking cartoon boxes for two reasons; one, space restrictions and secondly they are expensive. My family always had allowance for 04 full size suitcases, now we wish to add on 04 nos 23 KG cartoons, properly wrapped and leveled. Most of our friends and family shifted like this without problem. These will cost 60-100/pcs Taka maximum.

Dont go for hard cases, then you end up breaking them as airport mis handles them, Go robust thick canvas/ Fabric type with belt all around (Ask them and you get additional wrap around belt for 120 taka max). A Mid size suitcase (32")would be 3200 to 3600 taka I believe if Chinese, Indians would cost 500-700 taka on top and the good one 7000 taka or more.

If you have toddlers it might be an option to avail insurance otherwise I think not required, carry tentative medications for 3 months though.

Salam

Dear Respected Forum Members,

As Salaam U Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah.

I am Planning to fly for Toronto by Turkish Airlines on 28th of July 2013, Insha Allah.

We, (A couple of 10 Families) bought ticket (of different dates) from a reference of one of our Respected Senior Forum Members, and we got the ticket really cheap, ever cheaper than IOM.

So, if any one is interested to travel on the same day, please contact me. I am eagerly interested to have some known Co-Flyers from Dhaka.

I am searching for Co-Passengers/Co-Flyers on that day by the same flight.

If anyone is interested, please feel free to contact me @ 01717660833.

Dua for all.

Best Regards,

INDIANAJONES.

thanks
