You're right, but $590/month is insane. "Honda Civic" has one of the highest premium rate as it's regarded as the most stolen/demanded vehicle in Canada. Yet, most Bangladeshis would either drive a Civic or a Camry.Raj_Hoque said:Congratulation PQR on your PPR.
Forum mates...1 important shares...please avoid purchasing Honda Brand Cars and staying in Brampton area. Why? Caz Honda has the highest Insurance Premium amount here and Brampton is the area where Insurance is the most expensive in GTA due to past few years high rate of accidental claims. Also please buy Insurance only when you have Class G license. I got my G2 and car, but still not taking the car out as G2 has the highest amount of insurance premium. Guess how much??? CAD 590/month they offer me even just One Way (3rd Party). But if I have Class G then it will be around CAD 300-350. Just think I bought car with CAD 2000 but paying insurance 350 per month. Insurance is the biggest problem here in Canada now a days. So please be careful. Don't waste your time to get full Class G License after coming here. And Also please give all your Road test outside Toronto. You have high chance of failure if you appear road test in GTA. There are many Bengali Driving Instructor who will be playing with you and encourage you to appear exam in toronto. Please don't fall on them. If you fail they'll get paid by you for the next time to pass. Also everytime you fail you pay to Govt. Cad 40 for G2 and Cad 75 for G.
Good Luck..
- A G license would reduce your premium by 10% (apprx).
- A full defensive driving course (10 classes + road practice) would reduce by 10% (apprx)
- +25 age would reduce by 10% (apprx)
I had none of the above when I first bought my car (328i) in student life (outside GTA) and used to pay $140/mo (I ensured to get a quote online first before buying the car). Now, I drive a G35 and pay $160/mo for both auto insurance (full coverage) and home insurance. I still have G2, live outside GTA and over 25 now. But I stayed in Toronto Downtown with the same premium for a year.
So, avoid GTA
