how long does it really take after submitting to CIC before one gets the medical invitation? I am referring to Manitoba provincial nominees through the paper application. i submitted my application in April 2016. I want to believe my application is already in Accra.

Yes your file should have been in Accra by now. No one can say precisely when to expect medicals now! Before it used to be within 6 and 8 months but now no one can say. All we know is they say the processing time is 16 months; some people can be very lucky to get their visa within a year.

Oh Awhydot! So sorry I don't know most people's timelines. I have started contacting them o. My sponsor put me on conference call with IRCC Canada. They said it is not with them again so they are not to update. The lady checked and said it is already 16 months. I did the specific case enquiry yesterday. Please do yours now, we don't need to wait anymore most especially because of the holidays. May God speed everything up for is and let all end in praise.
