Canadian Work experience points

If I would complete 2 years Canadian work experience in last week of January (exactly on Jan 25, 2015), can I claim points for two years while submitting my application or should I claim points only for 1 year ?

Specifically, would CIC consider the work experience duration as at the time of

1) submission of EE profile ? OR
2) when taking out draw for ITA ? OR
3) evaluation of PR application ? (assuming you get and submit the PR application) ?

Since, there is some additional points for 2 years work ex rather than 1 year, I thought of checking this.

Also, is there any indication of the exact date for taking out the first draw (It should be week starting Jan 26, 2015) and any cut-off on the applications status of what date would be considered for draw ? (would it be as on Jan 26 or say Jan 23 etc)

Thanks in Advance,
caimi

Yes of course , I would try to get it straight away.
I have another two queries -

- Can we claim points for a continuing Masters course ? Although I am sure that its is not the case still wanted to confirm from you guys.
- Is it possible to have two simultaneous applications ?
1st application - Applicant 1 - Husband , 2 - Wife
2nd application - Applicant 1 - Wife, 2 - Husband

Cheers !
1. I'm not sure, you'd have to see what your ECA says when you receive a report back. Only education supported by an ECA report, unless it's with a Canadian institution, then possibly?

2. You do not need two EE profiles, express entry is not a lottery, create one profile with whichever combination of principal applicant/spouse that gives the most points.

Since its electronic it doesn't appear there is any kind of cut off, when they do the draw they simply take a snapshot of the pool and rank all the candidates by points before inviting the top x amount.

I'd just wait until you hit the two year mark and then just log in and update profile, it would take effect immediately.

Just a question, have anyone been invited to apply yet? Has the program even kicked off?

If you apply now without a Job Offer or PNP Certificate, can you later update this and still be eligible?

I have already applied for Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program in April 2014. Should I first wait for my MPNP Certificate or should I just apply?

Yes you can update your EE profile which is encouraged by CIC, it's a dynamic system designed so that people can improve their scores by getting more work experience or qualifications etc.

You would need to check if you can use your existing PNP certificate for EE, there appears to be a lot of confusion regarding whether you will get the points for a PNP nomination you received before the introduction of EE. Most provinces haven't fully integrated with the new system. I know a lot are being told that they just need to wait it out for their existing application or they can create an EE profile but they wouldn't be able to claim 600 points for nomination.

Did any1 get any answer as to why profiles with more than 1 person (accompanying spouse) aren't showing scores properly?

Some of my points are shown as if I don't have a spouse on the profile (single), even though my wife's information is all there. Also, her IELTS score and EDUCATION shows 0 points.

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all fine,
When I did create my Entry Express profile, I get the Shocked "Profil Ineligible ", knowing that I am eligible. I got more than 67 points out of 100.

Plus, I did the online tool: come to Canada, and It did say too I am eligible Cry

I do know what was the problem exactly (work, language test, job offered ) ??

The problem now is, when I did try 3 times to changes the informations just to see if it is going the status to Eligible, and after submitting that 3 times.

I can not submit the form now Sad I can still edit, but there is no more the submit button to send the updates I have done.

FYI, when I get the ineligble status, I did delete the application, and edit it (the same), but I cant create a new one Sad

Any help ? please.
who got the same problem ?

PS: I did send a request to the technical department (CIC)

Thank you in advance,
Sincerely,

Adam

Dear doubleym,

Regarding point no. 2. I am also having the same query. In this case points are same. As i am having B.E with 9 yrs of experience and my wife had PhD + 2 yrs of experience.

Again back to the same question, Can i apply 2 applications? As mentioned above ? is there any of such rule that if applied as primary candidate, So i can not be part of secondary applicant?

Thanks //

I've noticed that you're asking the same question in multiple places, so I will give the same answer here.

I don't know if there are rules against having 2 applications with the same people on both, but if the points are the same it makes absolutely no sense to have two profiles. They are not selected at random so you wouldn't be increasing the chances of being chosen so why risk possible complications further down the line with CIC?

Hi please help,

I have been selected and added to the Pool and I also have a Job Offer but no LMIA

My questions are:

1. What is the role of Job Bank. Job Bank is not fully operational at the moment.
2. How will the employer apply for LMIA? They have never done this before. Any links will be helpful. Will the employer themselves contact ESDC and then they will be told what to do next?
3. When will they start withdrawing candidate names? Any Idea

Thank You

regards

Q: Ashish, How can you see how many in your NOC has applied??? Are you a chemical engineer???

Hi Canadaatul,

Yes I am a Chemical Engineer, I simply told based on whatever NOC's I came across in this forum.

I don't know how many have applied apart from this forum, also in 2013 FSW, NOC 2134 cap got filled slowly until March 2014 for 300 Applications.

Based on the above two assumptions, I have told that many people might not have applied under this NOC 2134.

Bye Ashish. :)
