RCMP was NOT requested with documents submission. But its up to you to submit with your application.
So far as I know of, CIC will request RCMP record when everything has been checked out. This indicates that something is moving with your application.

Was it on the 16th? ::) Then that's really interesting. Or the one a week before that?

I received the answer on Saturday 16th at 7:33pm...

I got the same email and just had to laugh. I've had no updates and am stuck in the Review of Eligibility part. So, it doesn't feel so fast to me. :) I keep reminding myself that they have 6 months and not everyone gets lucky enough to have their applications pushed through in 2 months.

Express Entry supporting the needs of British Columbian employers.

Canada succeeding in bringing international talent here faster

May 19, 2015 — Vancouver — Express Entry is proving to be a success in serving the needs of employers and provinces alike. Canada's Citizenship and Immigration Minister, Chris Alexander, welcomed new Express Entry permanent residents Mr. Thanikachalam Ananthakrishnan from India, and Ms. Zoe Cremin, from Ireland, to Canada.

Mr. Ananthakrishnan was accepted under the Federal Skilled Worker Program. He is employed as a Front End Engineer at custom menswear company, Indochino, in Vancouver.

Minister Alexander also welcomed Ms. Cremin, the first permanent resident under the Express Entry stream of the Provincial Nominee Program for British Columbia. She works as a software engineer at Sycle.net Technologies Ltd.

British Columbia is the first Canadian province or territory to welcome a provincial nominee as a permanent resident through Express Entry.

Launched in January, Express Entry is a new way of managing applications for Canada's key economic immigration programs. Candidates create an online profile and express their interest in coming to Canada permanently. Candidates who meet the minimum criteria are accepted into the pool and ranked according to various factors, including language proficiency, education and work experience. Each is a leading indicator of one's likelihood of integrating fully and quickly into Canadian society and making an optimal contribution to the economy.

So the things are happening fast, but, on the other hand they are delaying draws... Let's see what comes next.

How many days did you have wait before CIC replied to your CSE? I submitted a CSE ~1 month ago and still waiting for a reply.

It was about 1 month.
I sent the CSE regarding the missing AOR. 1 week later I got the AOR and I thought it was because of the CSE..
But now I know better.

Does anyone know how long the background check takes once it is in progress? Has anyone who got AOR in April passed theirs yet?

Based on the timeline from other people who got their PPR, it may take a few weeks I would say. Mine also stuck at BG check (submitted Apr. 20).
