In normal pre-covid times it would take 2-5 weeks, however, since the number of active applications has decreased, it should be way earlier.

It is the verification of your documents, for authenticity and making sure that they are valid and correct.

In file location section it says "Ready for PS"

Normally should “Ready for PS” happen before or after security? My security is not started yet but it’s in “ready for ps” now.

It has nothing to do with security.

So security can happen before that? Or in parallel with the paper screening step?

I used a consultant to process my application, however I want to order GCMS notes. I asked the consultant but my notes are taking a while (15 july order) to arrive and I'm betting they have it sitting in their inbox since they've been losing files/documents since day 1. If i order GCMS through a 3rd party would it cause any issues? Would it affect my representative that's already on file in any way? I've had to submit the authorized use of a rep/cancellation of a rep 3 times already since the same company keeps hiring/firing people and all i want are my notes lol.

If you are inside Canada, you can just order through Canadian government under ATIP. $5 and takes about a month. Just leave your personal email there it will be sent directly to you.

You can request GCMS notes as often as you would like, and from a third party. The GCMS notes do not have any affect on the processing of your application. The GCMS notes are released pursuant to the Access to Information Act, whereas the processing of your application happens under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. They are separate laws and have no bearing on each other.

If you are in Canada and requesting your own information then its free under the Privacy Act, its $5 to request someone else's information.
