I have the following questions.

What is the time frame in which we have to do the medicals?

Within what time frame do we have to send the passports?

Is there any cut out or time lines for these which can adversely affect the PR process?

Just curious, they do not accept regular checks, so are you saying that the cashier checks are presented to bank with the file number endorsement ?
Yes. Your bank should have access to the scan of cashier's check once it has been encashed. It has the endorsement on the back where you should be able to find the B#.

Bendjoe ,

I checked the buffalo specific Appendix A check list for Provincial Nominee and there is not reqrement for submitting Work experience , Educational documents Language stc ...

So to submit I797 to CIC should be out of question

Am i missing something ????

Hi guys,

I'm new in this forum... So glad there's one like this so we could share/help each other's cases. Here's my timeline so far:
Application sent to CIC Buffalo - 3/31/09
Received by CIC - 4/2/09

I didn't include copies of my I-797s, only the H1b visa stamped on my passport. Do you think my application would be returned because of this? Let me know your experience so I could prepare it to be notarized as well. Thanks.
It will return unless CIC find a document which proves that you are in the US for more than one year like an I-94 entry date stamp.
CIC is asking for I797A as the main backing document for that one year requirement even though it doesn't bear any entry date stamp.Lot of folks were unaware of this rule and got their application back in two weeks including myself. Hope for the best.

Yes we all looked at the checklist before sending the package to CIC and you are right there is no mention of such a thing.

But the letter that CIC sent along with the returned application specifically asked for I 797A. CIC Buffalo will process your application only if they are convinced that you are living in an area under its purview for more than one year.

Documents that they accept for this are I-797A, I-94. Remember they don't care the visa stamp date on your H1B stamp.

Do you guys think ,, once you provide I94 and I797 to CIC , they will check with USCIS for validity ( in the case where applicant is already laid off )

I am worried as i am laid off and applied for H1B transfer and received an query and preparing to respond and also mean while thinking of changing my status to B2 ( VISITOR VISA )

So willi be able to send my I797 with the previous company to CIC and i will not have I94 as if i apply for B2 VIsa I have to send original I94 to USCIS

AAAAAAAAAAHH

Don't worry. If they check and found that have no H1B status and you are in situation of packing bag and baggage, Nothing will happen they will refer to Home country consulate. Which will affect your process hardly 3-4 months.

I called Alberta hotline and asked general question about moving back to home country while waiting for Nomination under old process

Lady's answer was very diplomatic ......

On one side she said you will be fine ..we will transfer your file to home country
On the other side she said i am not an officer so it depends totally on immi officer, if he / she wants to allow you to continue the process and even if they allow you ...in your home country ( New Delhi ) your time line will be drastically affected .

My intent is to stay in USA legally ( B2 or H1B transfer )and get the Nomination and atleast collect all doucments ..PCC / BANK ETC before going to home country .......

Hey Folks:

The problem is that AINP staff is not the CIC Officer and they have very little idea about the process of CIC. But reality is that Don't lie, once get nomination simply ask CIC and get follow according to CIC . It is CIC who will decide your fortune. AINP did their job once they nominated you. that's it. Even if AINP has referd you to Buffalo and you are laid off then simply ask Buffalo and admit that you are moving please refer the case to Home Country consulate.

Also Don't consider the time factor nothing special is gonna happen if you arrive in Canada 6-7 months before. You will be simply working at 7 Eleven or Mc Donalds. Canada job market is sick now. let it recover, go back do some productice certifications, english accent classes and then come with fully prepared instead of just coming early and working in 7 Eleven and learning about Buffalo chicken Taquitos. Just do the right and mature things.[/b]

Hi Guys,
just a quick update, I got the AOR/File No. etc. today 04/13/09. I'm out of town so my wife called me that it arrived. I don't remember the exact time-line 'cause I'm not home, but this is a rough estimate of what I remember:
- sent CIC application 12/30 (it was returned because I did not fill out a form completely)
- re-sent it to CIC on 01/09/09, received at CIC on 01/10/09
- Check cashed about 2 weeks after receipt.
- got AOR on 04/13/09
Just a quick further update: got a letter today (04/14/09) informing me that my case had been transferred to the NY office. Not sure what my preference was for visa office location if I had any.

Hey WalkingFunny how are you? Can you told me how much is for the medicals I'll to the same Dr. as soon CIC told me to go. :)

I'll let you know as soon as I get the information from the Dr.'s office. I checked and found that there's only 1 designated facility in the Atlanta metro, they have 3 in Georgia, but the other 2 are in Savannah. I wonder why they have so few places, for example, there's none in the whole of Wisconsin where I currently work.

PS. I just called the Doctor's office, they are closed already, but they have some information on fees on their webpage:
http://www.doctorwolff.com/
http://www.doctorwolff.com/Canadian_Immigration.html

It is $395 per adult, variable for children 10 years and younger
cchabert: I spoke to the Dr.s office today and got an appointment. They only work Mon - Thur.
Costs: $395 for adult, I have 2 children, 6yrs - $150, 2yrs - $100.
