Hi everyone, permission to join in the discussion about drivers license in Alberta. I was landed last year and lived in Montreal Quebec but not able to secure drivers license because I fly back to the Philippines after 1 month. Now I'm planning to move in Alberta Calgary, what should I do to get a drivers license, Am I still entitled for a certain period of time to drive a car in Alberta? Thank you very much.....

You would be counted as a new person and would be allowed few months to drive on a valid license issued in English or French from your home country. In ON it is 2 months, check AB drivetest site for exact driver license requirements.

Hi
My license is issued on July 13th, 2018 in Singapore.

I am moving to Alberta in April 2020 after getting my PR there. However, my overseas driving experience would still be slightly less than 2 years when I land in April 2020. So, to be eligible for the GDL exemption for more than 2 years, should I just wait till July 13th, 2020 and apply? does it work even though I would have landed 3 months earlier?

Kindly reply. very urgent
