Thank you for those good points! That's an oversight on my part and understand the OWP would most likely be voided if we decided to do the EE.

According to her, work is most important.
The OWP would not be voided simply by applying for EE as well. People are allowed to apply for PR under multiple streams, so she could have both apps being processed concurrently. If and when the EE was approved, she could then cancel the inland app and land as a PR, without having to worry about the work permit validity.

Yes, but the key point in your secenario is that the Inland application is cancelled at the last minute (after EE has been approved). This could mean that most, if not all, of the fees that were paid for the Inland application might not be refunded...if the Inland application has reached AIP stage before EE was approved. Even with CIC's short comings regarding processing times, I can't imaginge the EE application taking anywhere near what the Inland processing times are!

I assume that as OP proposed this scenario, they are fine with having to pay the fees twice and possibly losing some of that money.

Hello Again Everyone,

It's been awhile since I last posted on here.

My GF and I are in the process of filling out the Inland forms for Spousal Sponsorship. I was planning to fill it in as much as I can and then come on here with some questions. But I find I have more and more questions... They're probably really small... i'm probably over thinking/analyzing. Is there a place or someone that I would be able to ask my questions? I'd hate to bombard this thread with my questions.

Here's one of my biggest questions: -My GF and I will officially be "Common-law" (living with each other for one year) in early November. There are questions in these forms that ask what our current status is "Single... Common-Law... Married.. Etc" Am I filling this out based we're already common law? I feel like it would be huge if someone could walk me through this!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
