Has anyone here applied for AIPP inland, whilst in Canada, with their dependents in another country?

I've seen a few folk on this forum mention that when they've been granted PR through an inland AIPP application, they've had to go in person to sign for their PR. Does this present a problem with those who have applied for AIPP inland with dependents in a different country?

I ask as I applied for AIPP (Nova Scotia) inland when my spouse (my one dependent) and I both had valid IEC work permits in Canada. Both of our work permits have since expired. I'm currently on implied status waiting for a new work permit. Cos my job is NOC C, my spouse wasn't eligible for a new work permit. He has applied to stay as a visitor (visitor record) so he's also currently in Canada on implied visitor status, but if it isn't granted to him, he will have to return to the UK.

Thank you so much, you've put me at considerable ease.

I worry about his visitor application getting knocked back because he has immediately transitioned from being here on a two year work permit, to just visitor status. We considered him flagpoling or even leaving Canada for a few months, and him coming back through the border as a visitor & getting a six month visitor stamp in his passport that way, but despite being visa-exempt there is always a chance he will be knocked back due to the fact he has just been here for two years working, and it was a risk we didn't want to take.

I haven't received a pre-arrival letter yet (I'm not even sure what it is to be honest), I'm in what the internet tells me is IP2 right now. It's only been 9 days since I got my PR AOR. Maybe I'm hypothesizing over a situation that might not ever come to light, but I have a tendancy to agonize over the smallest thing...

His previous WP was IEC, which can't be extended. He can't get a new WP as my NOC doesn't support it. We asked our consultant and intake councillor and they both told us there's no way around it. It's really a pain that he's had to quit his job, its contradictory to the settlement plan we went through when getting endorsement from Nova Scotia! Ironically, his work place suffers from the same problem any business thats taking part in the AIPP does, can't get the staff so his previous position is sat unfilled.

My work permit application was sent off just before Christmas, they've not started the background check or anything yet, but I'm hoping once they do they get moving quickly as my boss really needs me back at work :D

Thanks again!

I sent it to the correct address. It arrived in their mail room on December 28th, I received an email on Jan 2nd saying that they had received it and included an application number. Now its linked in my GCKey account, which says it was submitted Jan 2nd and that the application is currently in progress, so I'm guessing it's complete? I had the application looked at by a consultant, and I was told by my intake councillor at ISANS at the time that the processing times were 7 to 12 weeks for AIPP inland WPs. The website says processing times at 7 weeks, so I'm not hugely worried about it right now. If it gets to 7 weeks and I have no updates, I will get in touch with them.

wardea90, I have the same situation. Our work permits expired on 31 of December and our PR application is still in process. Im the main applicant and have applied for the WP extension and my spouse too - for OWP extension. Also we sent the second application for him for a visitor record. So, hopefully we will get at least one of this permits for him. Or we a praying to get PR before permits.
Im on implied status and keep going my work but my spouse was ought to stop working ((
We sent WP+OWP extension on 12 Oct 2018 and still no any news

That's rough. What is your NOC & where are you from? Which province?
Processing times for inland applications made via paper for open work permit extensions right now is 113 days. They are currently working on applications received on October 5th, so hopefully it'll be your time soon!

We weren't able to apply for an extension of our old WPs because IEC WPs can't be extended, nor do they permit one to benefit from implied worker status, so I can't work until I get a new WP D: I had to make an application for a brand new WP, processing times of which are currently at 7 weeks, so I have until Feb 21st before I need to worry.

I hope it gets sorted for you soon!! Hopefully your PR will come in soon and you won't even have to worry about the WP!

I'm from New Brunswick. I had a delay with my new endorsement ad was not able to apply earlier. Now Province spends many weeks before to give a new endorsement. It can take more than 2 months.
Thanks a lot for all good words. Hope all of us will get the documents in time.
Good luck !

I went through the same time. My employer applied for designation in April and they didn't get it until the end of July, but the website to book a settlement plan was down for like a month! Then by the time I managed to get my settlement plan done and the endorsement was sent off, it was September. It took like three months for endorsement to come! I got it in December! The original plan was to have PR before my work permit expired :( I didn't realize that the work permit processing was in accordance with online application times, you should definitely get in touch with IRCC and see where you are at.

Your looking at 2-3 months total processing time for PR. Did you send your WP application to below address:
Case Processing Centre in Edmonton
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
c/o Atlantic Immigration work permit, Station 999
9700 Jasper Avenue NW, Suite 55
Edmonton, AB T5J 4C3

If you did, your WP will be approved within 3 weeks provided you submitted a complete application.
What's your NOC code?
I am Inland applicant and I have applied for Work permit under AIPP but it has already been more than 6 weeks and no response yet? Where it says that it takes only 3 weeks?
