Tell me about the job story, landing story is not enough. How old is your wife?

I came back to the US after landing in Canada, so will start looking for job when we decide to move and settle in Alberta.

Hi All,

I am landed immigrant in Manitoba and would like some help understanding all these taxes and benefits papers we need to fill. the main question i hope someone can answer is: when they ask for family net income, what do they mean? do they mean how much money our family is raising from work? we are new immigrants and are yet to find a job but still they asked us to file the tax paper as quick as possible. does this mean that we should put the net income as 0. or does the net income also includes the money we are bringing with us to canada as newcomers? for me income means money that are brought in during a year, or does it mean just total money a person has?

thanks for help in advance

I think you need to talk any tax consultant about this issue. and you have to show your present income not show how you take from your country.better you have to file next tax year so you can show last one year how many you or with your family member earning but if it is essential you show 0 income last years ant tell note that just few month you land in canda. best of luck.

Dear Brother,

Have a nice day.I have applied on 3/8/2014 for SINP and got AOR on 3/3/2015. In AOR they mansion that:
"It is important for you to learn about the steps you need to take to get your credentials and qualifications recognized in Canada. Citizenship and Immigration Canada recommends that you review the resources on the Foreign Credentials Referral Office’s website (www.credentials.gc.ca) "

I can not understand that should I apply for credential assessment or it is not needed for me?

Hasib

Dear Respected Seniors,

I am not sure if this is the correct forum since I am a FSW applicant.

I am Planning to go through my landing procedure along with my spouse and a year old as soon as we received our passports from CPC-O.

Can I use AVR to come back to US once the landing procedure is done? I am on H1b and valid until 2017 but my visa stamping from Canada in 2013 has expired in 2014.

I don't want to go through stamping again like I did in 2012, if I don't have to.

Please suggest!

Thanks in advance,
BikBis

Yes you can use the AVR, as long you have old expired visa stamped and returning within 30 days. You may be sent for secondary inspection, so keep plenty of time in hand for flight. Other than that take the recent I797, 3-4 months paystubs, employment verification letter.

Hi, I am writing this about a mistake in the marital status field in my COPR document, received on 2015-05-26. It is showing my marital status as Single while I am married. All other personal information is OK.

I got married on March 8, 2015. My wife is a Canadian citizen and currently living with me in Calgary, AB. After I got my marriage certificate, I immediately informed CIC via email on April 09, 2015. I sent my Canadian marriage certificate with the email. Since my wife is a Canadian Citizen, I also provided a copy of her passport and citizenship certificate as a proof with the email.

In the meantime, I received my passport request email on April 10, 2015. Based on the email, I again immediately notified CIC via email to CPC-CTD-Ottawa @ cic.gc.ca on April 11, 2015. I also sent all the relevant documents with the email such as marriage certificate, a copy of my wife's Canadian Passport and Citizenship Card.

However, I never received any email from CIC about this change. I waited till May 9, 2015 (30 days deadline from ready for visa email) and then sent my passport to Ottawa along with a copy of ready for visa email, a letter addressing my marital status change, my marriage certificate and the proof of my wife Canadian citizenship. CIC received the package on May 12, 2015. My immigrant visa and COPR have been issued on May 14, 2015. I got my passport back on May 26, 2105 along with immigrant visa and COPR.

Today, I talked to CIC call center agent Krista, Agent No. #3801 about this issue and she advised me to contact CIC immediately explaining the matter. She also advised me to postpone my landing until this issue is resolved.

Any advise?? should i wait for reply?? or send copr with pasport back with a letter explaining the issue? also can i still land using the existing copr and tell border officer that i am married to correct the info??

really appreciate any expert opinion.

If you did not earn any money while in Canada, you just need to file a NIL return and it is not related to money you brought from your home country. But, there are few other things to be considered if you own foreign property worth more than $100,000.00 CDN., Bank interest earned or child benefits received - universal child tax benefit - usually $100/month/child. etc..

You have to report any type of income you rec. in Canada during that tax year.

I thing you can land. They will solve your problem soon. but you take your all marriage document when you travel. no need to tell any thing if they ask anything but if ask you tell detail with document and phone reference
