I think you'll receive the passport request sometime in July but you never know stay on safe side and renew the passports.bukyder said:Please... I need some advice here.
My wife's passport is expiring this September 2014. I got this dilemma that if we have to renew it right now, my wife wouldn't get the new one just in case CIC would ask us for our passports. Per my country's consulate here in Canada, it will take at least 10 weeks to receive the new passport. I feel that we'll get passport request maybe by late June or July. We submitted our application last Dec.2013 and my wife is already here with me in Canada. The other day I received a reminder email from cic regarding passports and rprf that's why I am a bit concerned.
Should we just wait to renew her passport after our application is approved?
If you guys have the same issue with your dependant's passports like mine, please share. Thanks a lot!

I agree with Jessica_chen. You should apply for passport asap. Even if they send you PPR today....they will give some time to send the pp in. Ask the people who got PPR, how much time they give to submit pp.Jessica_chen said:Hi ,
I think you should have noticed in the CIO reminder email, they said "If your passports have expired or will be expiring within the next 6 months, you must apply for new passports as soon as possible. ". As you said, your wife's passport will be expiring this sep, i think you should renew that ASAP. Just consider it.
That's from the email my friend got for passport submission. 60 days to submit passport.chd2canada said:I agree with Jessica_chen. You should apply for passport asap. The requested information/documents must be received in our office within 60 days from the date of this letter. Failure to do so could result in the refusal of your application.
The issuance of your visa(s) cannot be delayed so it is important for you to submit your passport(s) as soon as possible. An expiration date (dd/mm/yy) will be indicated on your visa and/or on your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR – IMM 5688), and you must obtain permanent residence on or before that date. The visas and CoPR cannot be extended. If you are not prepared to live permanently in Canada immediately after your permanent residence is granted, please consult the CIC website regarding your obligations to retain your status in Canada.
