Submitted forms to AINP: Dec 30
Received file number by email ..7XX: Mar 25
I didn't bother AINP with any queries and waited for their response. I think AINP is making an awesome effort to reply either way to all folks. My request to all is to be patient - let's not allow our over eagerness mess up their process.
Best O' luck!
Start preparing by collecting the finger print cards from all the states where you have lived, where to get fingerprint taken etc. If you have lived in a country outside USA find out how much time it takes to get the PCC and what is the process. PCCs are valid only for 3 months, so there is no point applying before you get a file number, as it takes atleast 2 months or more to get nomination letter.shvr007 said:Manny,
Since you are one of the first ones to have gotten the file # under the new process (even though you applied earlier and then your application was processed under the new process),
1) what are some of the next steps you are taking in order to be prepared for the next subseqent phases e.g. PCCs
2) Since you application is a pre-Feb 19 2009, what would the PCC rules be in this case ? Is the PCC Requirement - to obtain a PCC from every stay (where one has lived for more than 6 months) only for post Feb 19, 2009 folks or for everyone who started in 2009 ?
All:
In Essence, while we all eagerly wait for our file #, I think instead of letting the frustration get us, lets proactively starting preparing for the next steps
Thanks to all in advance for any information you can share.

I contacted AINP last week with the below question:divagirl: Did anyone call and ask AINP? I guess yours too is more then 2 months now.
I have not yet called AINP and am still waiting. Hoping every thursday or friday we would get the file number... maybe it's time to ask. Will wait till this weekend however and see what happens.email2kale said:divagirl: Did anyone call and ask AINP? I hear some of the people who applied in January under new process still have not received any file numbers (after two months passed by). I am wondering if the processing times for issuing file numbers and PNP certification are increased. This information can help me to see if I need my H1B visa extended in USA after this September.
This is the reply I received:
The current processing time by the AINP office is 6 months. After two months of submitting your application, you should expect to receive a file number. It takes the AINP office 3-4 months from the time you receive a file number, to make a decision on your case.
If it crossed more than the normal processing times (2 months) as it is mentioned on their website, I think it is reasonable to contact them and see what's going on (but please do not flood them).
Looking forward to see any updates on this from any of you. Thanks.
