Hi All;

Does any body knows how much time it takes these days to stamp an immigrant or PR visa on Passport at Canadian Consulate Islamabad. My PR Approved, I send my passport here to Ottawa in Canada on 21st of October and got back on 10th Nov. with Immigrant Visa, while my wife submit her passport on 29th of October in VFS but still waiting for Passport return.

Thanks for any Information....

As I bought her a flight ticket at 5th of December , hope they stamp it before 5th December

Hello guys,

I have recently ordered notes to find out how far my husband's sponsorship process has gotten. I filled out the form and paid the $5 fee. Now I received an e-mail from ATIP-AIPR with the following message:

Dear XXXX XXXX,

This is to acknowledge receipt of your request submitted pursuant to the Access to Information Act received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada on November 9, 2015 for the following records:

the electronic permanent residence file concerning XXXX, XXXXXX.

We regret to inform you that we are unable to process your request for the following reason:

The consent of XXXXX, XXXXX is required to process your request and allow us to release his information to you. To be valid, a consent must be signed, recently dated, contain the printed name of the person giving consent and indentifies you as the designated individual. Please ensure that the consent form is signed by all applicable parties and has the signature date and date of birth.

You can find the new ATIP consent form at the following link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/form-imm5744.asp

Note that we will put your request on hold until we receive the requested information from you. If we have not received your reply by December 17, 2015, we will consider the request abandoned and close our file accordingly.

Please submit the requested information to our office by either replying to this email or by mail at the following address:

Access to Information and Privacy Division
Citizenship and Immigration Canada
Ottawa, Ontario

You are entitled to submit a complaint to the Office of the Information Commissioner of Canada (OIC) regarding the processing of your request within 60 days of the issuance of this letter. For additional information on how to submit a complaint, visit the OIC website at www.oic-ci.gc.ca

Can someone clarify, please. Do we just need to fill out the consent form and send it to the given address? If we do not want the notes and disregard the e-mail will that affect our sponsorship case in any shape or form? It says at the bottom of the e-mail that if they do not receive the form by the given date, they will close the file accordingly. Does that mean they will close the request of notes or the whole sponsorship case?

Please help :(

Thank you

Yes so just sign the consent form and as the email says, send it as a Reply to the email they sent you and they'll get it. If not, you can always start a new request with the consent form (but you have to pay $5 again lol)

Salam Dostan

I am Oct 27 2014 applicant. Today I received from New Delhi my nikkah and some personal documents that i had sent on behalf of my husband to prove our relationship back to me. Is that a good sign? and for anyone here what happened after you got your personal document back
I think once they have all of you info scanned and uploaded on to their system, they send the original docs back. I applied in 2012 and got my nikkah khat back in 2013 and guess what, my application is still "in process" :) So it depends on each case...hoping for the best

According to my MP, my husband's background checks have been ongoing since August 2014! Depends on their travel/work history and how long it will take to get all info about them together

I'm still waiting for a response as they requested some additional documents: Sent Oct 13, 2015.

But my timeline says: We started processing your application on April 14, 2015.

They sent to the wrong email, I didn't check that email until October and sent them the documents that they were looking for (PR Fee, Criminal Report and Supplementary form). which I sent Oct 13th by email.

Should I keep waiting, should I go to the MP?

Hi everyone,

I am a October 2014 applicant and my status went to IP since October 2015....have not heard from NDVO as well as my husbands medical is also expired. Does anyone know how much longer it will take to get PPR?

I was thinking of ordering notes....would i be signing the consent or do we both have to sign?

Thanks for your help.....hopefully the liberal government make some serious changes

I'm in the same situation like you! My husband's status changed to IP in October 2015 as well and my his medical has also expired in October. We have not heard anything from NDVO in regards to the re-medical. The only difference is that we applied in December of 2014.
As for the consent form to order notes, I got my husband to sign it. I'm not 100% sure if that is right.

Thanks for the reply heels Jan,

I have applied in August 2014 and file transferred to NDVO October 2014, we also have a daughter but I guess that doesn't matter to the visa officer.

I have also done a couple of MP inquiry but NDVO told them we have to wait until 17 months is up....like wth these aren't even Canadians issuing the visas it boggles my mind!

Usually 3 months after medical expire, they ask for re medical.

Salam Heela janey,

Im not sure if someone answered your question yet or not. This happened to me to the first time i requested notes. There is a consent form that your husband must sign and date and send to you for you to attach to your request. Here is the link for the form:
