My wife has decision made status and she got passport request. It took us exactly 24 months, which is 2 years. Our application was all complete from day one. She did second medical in October, 2015...

For Afghans 6 manth for the rest of the world from two weeks maximum 1 or 2 months
My second medical was done on December and i am waiting still.

Please do not compare your case as per nationality it will only make you feel more miserable with all due respect its not a good idea
Background checks from Afghanistan do take time
I have travel history i am an Indian national check my timeline i am also suffering
Just pray we all get over this agony !!!

I see that you are in the quo for an interview at NDVO, There are few things you need to be concern about...

First order your NOTE: Understand that is it due to eligibility or security... most likely will be eligibility which is doubt about your spouse (marriage of convenience)...

New Delhi Canadian High commission will recommend you for interpreter: choose your interpreter meet with him/her in advance and explain all your story to him or her

Specifically, for Delhi Visa Office you must be with your spouse and be prepare in advance ... if you have any other question please let me know since I helped several applicants and got a good experience on NDVO interviews...

And so on alot of people waiting i know afghan background checks long time but how long 5 manth 8 manth 1 year it can be done very fast but i dond know whay they are this much slow with us. Sorry I don't want so sound like crazy what someone need to talk in order to bring the changes.

Wow what a nice surprise for v-day :]

And I have no idea why our case is going at such a slow pace to be honest. I ordered notes and got them a couple days ago; it says visa is in print queue in Islamabad since January 15. My MP office said to wait for 4 weeks after DM, which has passed now. I emailed them again, hopefully we get PPR soon.

This has been the most frustrating thing I've had to go through
