Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for an affordable place to do the certified copies in Toronto. Any recommendations?

Thanks!!

I'm curious, what do you need certified copies of? Just want to double check for myself :D

Everything, for all the copies that we need to submit as part of the application.

I do not remeber doing any certified copies when I submitted the file for my wife. For my documents where it said copies, I did just that, and for my wife we needed certified translations, as she is Chinese, so we did those there. But, for example, my divorce certifcate from my previous spouse, it said coapy, so I sent just a copy, did not say anywhere certified copy of that.
Maybe the guide changed since last year and today they require certified copies ?

The certified copies info is in the guide. The checklist just says copies but I think it might be better to include certified copies. Possibly not needed but just in case.

According to my lawyer, (the one who hosts this site), you don't need certified copies. I had asked about that early in the going, so there would be plenty of time to order and have them arrive, but I was told regular copies would do.

We did ours at a notary public. Also, maybe your workplace employs a notary public in which case you might just be able to get it done for free.

I believe you need this for copies of official docs like passports?

You can get the copies certified at any commissioner of oath in your municipality. They charge less than a notary public. I don't know about Toronto but I did got a copy certified for $40 at a notary public before and 4 documents did cost me 16$ with the commissioner of oath.
