Bad news for me!
Just received an email from CIC and saying that they didn't hear anything from us since they request the RCMP record. It is horrible!!They emailed us and told us that our circumstances are noted in May. But now they forgot?!

Anyway, it has been 16 weeks, RCMP still hasn't finished our application!
I strongly recommend to do an electronice fingerprints instead of paper one!
I probably will do another application!

Todd and Nitzen, I did tell Immigration that it may take approximately 18 weeks for the fingerprints to be processed, from what i saw on the RCMP site and the Immigration officer granted me extra 30 days. Few times I had to write back to tell them I haven't heard anything back from RCMP and they would grant me another 30 days each time. Then the last 2 months I didn't hear anything...then finaly the last email from Immigration was that they already sent off our COPR. So Nitzen, yours should be getting done soon, that's good. I sent ours off on Nov 8th to RCMP and didn't hear that it got processed or anything, even now I haven't heard from RCMP that it got done...but the important thing is we got our COPR from immigration so I"m sure they processed it and sent the clearance certificate to Immigration. And also we did email RCMP several times before but each time they would email us back and say our file is not in the computer yet and to email back few weeks later.

The email I sent to immigration was ottpilot-immigration @ cic.gc.ca
bad news for me

Hey guys, wondering if someone can give me some info? I lived in Canada for two years so when applying for my spouce/partner visa to move to Canada I figured I would 100% need a police check done for Canada as well as Australia which is where I live.
So I got my fingerprint done, sent them to RCP 2 months ago and am yet to hear anything back.
Now the other day I was reading through the website and it says that you MiGHT need a police background check and that once you send your paperwork to the CIC they will contact RCP and run your name through their program.
So my question is, do I just send mine and my partners paperwork and wait to hear from CIC or do I need to wait for RCP to send me my fingerprint clearance so I can include that in my documents to send to CIC?
I've tried contacting CIC but they don't give me a clear answer and I hate sitting here and waiting.
Any info anyone can give me would be soooooo greatfully appreciated!!
I think you don't have to wait for it to send your application. You can send it later. And because it takes a looooooong time to be ready, by the time they ask you for one, you'll already have the results. =)
But yeah, no need to wait for the RCMP to send your application. Send only the Australian's police background. Sometimes they don't even ask for the RCMP.

I sent my ink prints to Ottawa Commissionaires to be digitalized and sent electronically to RCMP. It usually takes 72hrs if you are clear, if not, it takes a little longer. Mine has exactly 6 weeks today since I sent it... =/ I'm still waiting for the results.
But yesterday I sent the certified copy of the Courts Disclosure of my charges. And at night I received a letter from the police saying that they acknowledge the receipt of my Application for Destrution of Fingerprints, and that they will forward it to RCMP. =)

Now I just need this fingerprints results!! Hopefully soon!!
