Advice Needed I have been Scammed by Nanny

Hi,

We sponsored a live in care giver from Hong Kong Live through agency we paid her plane ticket,Insurance & agency fee's.
We had an employment contract signed confirming her schedule days off and hourly rate.

The lady entered Canada and refused to come to work for first week, after that she came to work for eight days and then quit saying she cannot do the job that she applied for and basically lied to government as she said she can work a live in care giver.

I have been scammed she has family in Canada and obviously is trying to find easier job that pays more and transfer papers now that she is here.

That is so unfair to me the employer who laid out all upfront monies, i have been cheated. What recourse do i have can i request from government to cancel here work permit based on her not being able to do job that is stated on her work visa ?

Oh My God. I am sorry to hear not all caregiver pull scams like this. She cannot work under the work permit with your name so?

Employers also have to be mindful that the conditions of employment has to be reasonable since this new group of caregivers know their legal rights.

Employers know that caregiver from overseas will work under hasher conditions than Canadians and not everyone will stay. Some will tough it out and some will not.

As you said she has family here who might be saying to her many things. Leaving a job is not necessarily fraud especially when we dont know why she left.

It sound bad from which ever side but as a caregiver myself. The solid one will through God will work things out with the employer some are not so patient.

The scam is they find a sucker like me to pay for everything and come to Canada and them proceed to a job they might prefer elderly or not live in.

We had an employment contract that stipulated all terms of employment Days off hours of operation private room and bathroom nothing left to negotiate.

She agreed to all until she stepped foot in Canada.
Her reason for leaving is my receiving and email saying I cannot do the Job i am not Happy.

Her work permit is tied to you and the job you have offered her. It does not allow her to legally work for anyone else.

Why do you think it's a dead end? Have you tried calling yet? You need to call the first number listed on the page.

This is the official way to report problems like the one you have experienced. There is no other way. So either you call and report her - or nothing happens. Your decision.
