Hey there.
My girlfriend and I are entering Canada on IEC temporary working visas.
My first question is (Australian)
I have received my IMM 5665 POE letter in MyCIC inbox - saying my application has been successful etc however I have not received my Welcome Letter on email. Is this going to be an issue?
Also we have 1 way tickets with Air Canada straight to Vancouver, for myself I've read this won't be an issue..However want to clarify for my girlfriend (NZ) if she will need to show proof of leaving Canada (return ticket or similar)?
FOR AUSTRALIA
Q: Can I enter Canada with my Letter of Introduction on a one-way ticket?
A: One-way ticket is allowed if you are flying direct to Canada but you should have evidence of funds to show that you could pay for a ticket to leave Canada at the end of your stay. If you are transiting the U.S. or another country, you might be required a return ticket; please check with your airline or travel agent if the airline requires a return ticket to allow you to board the plane.
HOWEVER FOR NZ
13. May I enter Canada with my Letter of Introduction on a one-way ticket?
No. You cannot enter Canada on a one way ticket. Under the IEC initiative, you must be able to provide evidence of return or onward travel. Travel may be by plane, train, bus or boat to anywhere outside of Canada.
-----------------------------
We will have bank statements with us with proof of over 10,000CAD each.
We don't have a problem with buying her a ticket to leave as proof however obviously don't want to if it's not 100% necessary. Can someone please share some advice on this?
Cheers
Martin
