Advice about lawyer

Hello i recently claimed for asylum inside canada. I found a lawyer who agreed to assist me with my case but he is asking for full payment in advance that is too $7000 . Is this normal? please advise

Sounds about right. Generally, lawyers will want payment up front for refugee cases due to the fact that if they loose the case and you are deported, they have no way to recover money owed to them for their services.

ya i know but will they just stall my case because they have already got the payment?

yes, i did but he was very trustable even in middle of work he told me if you want someone else to work on your file i will give you full refund. I said no i want you to finish the file. Hes an awesome consultant

He is consultant not a lawyer? I dont know why you are asking for advice for something you already made decision, lastly you said you want him to finish the process, he is an awesome. I dont get it! what was the question

i didn’t even had a hearing. He told me his aim is case clears without hearing and he has track record of 95% cases passed without hearing

Anyhow refugee board is not a uncle of lawyers and consultants so be careful before trusting anyone ..
