Hi Friends,

Kindly help me with the below mentioned situation:

My freind is able to secure a sit in college for post graduation diploma in international business with academic status(10th-68%,12th-44%, bachelor(correspondence-commerce from IGNOU)-44%+6 years work experience in customer service) without any GMAT score.

Would she be able to get into an University for MBA with very high GMAT & IELTS score along with her present academic status & work experience? if yes, how much variation would be in '%' due to brilliant GMAT & IELTS score?

She is also very familiar with french, would not be difficult for her to clear DALF/DELF.

Thanks...

most of the schools look for B or B+ in the last degree as a benchmark for admission .i guess that would be at-least 70%.you might want to check out the school's website where she wanna apply.
there are advantages of excellent GMAT and ielts if u have good academic background as well ,as the unis has to run by the laws (by fulfilling the min benchmark %)
good luck

If she scores TOEFL (100 + ) and GMAT (600 + ) then she would have a chance in getting into MBA.

Hi Inam, Are you saying TOEFL would work instead of IELTS?
If she is from India then she must take IELTS. Both TOEFL and IELTS are accepted as a proof of English proficiency by universities. But CHC in India only requires IELTS.

Allrighty, an excellent score in IELTS is how much?

That means, you are saying that an execellent score in IELTS(?) & GMAT(600+) would might let her get into an university for MBA with the present academic status?

Yes, she would have a chance and a point to prove that she has learnt a lot from her experience. blah blah ...

Good IELTS is not Less than 7. It would be awesome if she gets overall 7.5 but 7 is also fine. and she should try that her minimum in any section should not fall below 6 in any case.

Man, it is impossible for me to answer this question. Wait for someone else's reply. But chances are pretty low.

IELTS/TOEFL does not help you get into any MBA, it only qualifies you for applying. Your score has to be higher than their requirement (100 for toefl) else you won't be considered.. but whether you 105 or 115 has no impact on admission chances.

GMAT, however is the single most important factor for mba admissions. If your friend wants to get into a top MBA program, then 700 GMAT is what is generally required. Especially since you mentioned that her gpa wasn't great.. which btw most unis would be okay with because she has 6+ years work experience.

And I dont know about the degree she did but if it was a 3 year course, then yes she needs to undergo another year of studies before applying for MBA

Her bachelor degree was in Commerce from IGNOU through correspondence which she completed in 5 years of time period instead of 3 years as IGNOU has the flexibility of completing Bachelor degree in min 3 yrs & max 6 yrs.

She started gathering work experience right after 12th in customer service industry...

She also had completed her 10+2 in 3 years instead of 2 years due to 2 backlogs...

Would her experience be counted as bachelor & work experience were acquired together simultaneosly?

Would correspondence be a constraint?

If answers of above mentioned both the questions are positive, then does she still have go for 1 yr more education?

If she has to go for 1 yr more education, then What kind of education she should opt for 1 year?
