I am filling this out for my wife who I am sponsoring. I am a Canadian citizen. I am included where it says Spouse I assume, considering if it's left empty, she has to sign below certifying she does not have a spouse. But my real question is place of birth. She has given me the place of birth on all her families ID cards. Since I've been looking up the places she gave me, they're all provinces(this is Thailand)... and no towns. Is immigration going to be picky about this? I dont know if it's a language barrier between us or what it is, but it seems difficult for her to understand what I'm talking about, of course, I could very well be wrong, there is often a town in the province that carries the same name. Any suggestions??

It should not be a big deal...but I think she is just not understanding you...she probably was born in some place with a name....CIC I do not think will be picky with it..but the local CIC office(Where her PR will be processed) might ask for clarification....

Does she have a birth cetificate...maybe you can find the information you are looking for on the BC?

Not that unusual Indonesia, Nepal, Afganistan most people have only 1 name.
