Hello folks,

Good day. I am just wondering whether anyone had experience getting married while PR processing was ongoing. I applied for PR through economoy class (PNP-Ontario) in May 2012. I was done with medical in July. Then I got married in December. Now I have contacted with Ottawa office by email. But they are not responding for couple of weeks. If anyone knows what additional forms and documents I will need to provide, please share it. I will have to wait for the response from Ottawa office eventually. Nevertheless, just to keep myself be prepared for additional documents.

Much appreciate for your attention.

Please let me know when they respond.. I am in the same boat.
When did you send the email and did you send your marriage certificate along with it?
Docs u need:
1. Marriage Certificate
2. Birth Certificate of your wife (notarized)
3. Police Clearance Certificate for your wife
4. Fee
5. Updated IM0008 for and Additional family info form for yourself
6. Complete Application kit for your wife
7. Copies of your wife's passport
8. 3 Recent pics (45" *35")

Thank you so much Calainp for your reply. :) I can get prepared for those docz. Do you know whether checklist is necessary?

I sent them email on 14th of January 2013. I then contacted with CIC about it. The lady said I did right thing and said it could be even better if I attached marriage certificate with that email. Nevertheless it was fine. Then I again replied on previous email attaching my marriage certificate on 21st of January 2013. Now waiting and waiting... :(

Some of my friends said it is unlikely to get response by January. I will update this post once I get feedback from them. If anybody hears anything recently, please give us a shout.

Have a nice day!

its not about checklist. it is just about these documents. they tend to reply in 20 working days ... nd then you can send these docs. i m in the same boat. plz let me know when u get the response and plz post their reply as well.
thanks

Hi Guys

Calainp provided the correct list of documents. Just send them by email or fax with all your application details to get your file updated in CIC record.

Thank you kashifm for your reply. I have a question. Don't we need to send the hard copies by any chance?

If you atre sending copies than I think you can send them email and copy to get the ball rolling followed by hard copies.

Hello Kashifm,

Do you knwo how much time they take to reply the email (notifying them about marriage)? Should we just send the docs or forst wait for their reply?
CIC call centre agent told me to wait for reply. It is almost 10 days and I have not got any reply from VO.

Thanks

Usually CIC take 20 working days to reply. Did you sent your marriage certificate?

Thanks

Hope you will get a reply soon. Wish you best of luck.

Hello Guys, can someone who added their spouse explain to me what the completed application kit with all the requirements is exactly? I have not found anything about that in CIC website, also is it ok to send them all the documents, by email? even the photos?? Apreciate an answer ASAP, thanks

You are right. No information is mention at CIC website on this. The document lists are mentioned by 'Calainp' before in this post. However, I believe, it's better to get confirmation about extra documents as well as way of sending those docz (Soft/hard copies) from visa office you applied for PR.

I personally sent email to Ottawa office. Once I get reply from them, I will share it. Please do the same if anyone gets any information from visa office.

Cheers.
