Hello, first time to this forum!
I have just checked my application status online:

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on March 27, 2015.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on April 13, 2015. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

I live in Toronto, I mailed application package to the 'case processing centre' in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
I am wondering is it taking TOO LONG for the acknowledging letter to reach me? I mean it has been over 20 days since they mailed the letter.
Also, what format would they send the mail? I am assuming just plain mail right? Would it require my signature to receive the mail? maybe I missed the delivery?
If indeed the bloody Canada Post lost my letter, can I require another one to be sent?

Thanks guys.

welcome to this forum. If you got acknowledgement by email then you will not receive letter by post. incase you didn't provide email, you will receive letter. however ecas status in both way will appear same as u mentioned

I never receive the letter by email, so I am guess it will come in my mailbox, but is it taking too long? I mean more than 20 days and still counting, for a mail from Sydney Nova Scotia to Toronto?

Did you mention your correct email address in the application? If yes, please check the copy of your application (if you have) to ensure you have mentioned correct email address. If all is correct, check your email junk folder etc to see if you have received the acknowledgement email.

Sometimes even if you mention your email address, you can still receive acknowledgement by canada post regular mail.

Is this acknowledging letter important, do I need it later for the test/oath?
I left the correct email address in my application, also I check all the junk/spam folder of my mailbox, nothing. I have been trying to use the call centre for past few days, but they are always busy, what should I do?
Thanks

Acknowledgement is the confirmation that your application has been accepted and won't be returned although CIC may ask you for more paperwork (if required) during the processing of the application.
Call the call centre 1-888-242-2100 and press 4 and 0. If it says its busy and they can't transfer the call, hangup and dial again and press 4 and 0. You need to call many times 5-20 times in order for the system to put you on hold to talk to an agent. Ask them if they can send AOR to you by email or regular mail.

You actually don't need the AOR letter for test/interview however, it will have link to Discover Canada Guide and some other information like your application number etc. You can access discover Canada guide here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/discover/index.asp

As you can access your ecas and it says about acknowledgement, it means your application has been accepted for processing.
