AOR Received.
23-07-2015
I submitted my application one month ago and haven't heard a word. I know there is a 60 day delay on sponsorship applications, but I was just curious if they even received my application. Do they send out any kind of acknowledgement when they get an application? Email? Letter? Or do I just have to wait till they get to my application?

You will not hear back till you are closer to the 60 day mark. They will send the AOR a week or two before getting the SA so unfortunately all you can do now is wait.

Did you not send it with either a tracking number, or delivery confirmation?

Unfortunately (and for no known reason) some people never receive AOR.

Yes, I have the Canada Post tracking, which says it was received on July 23rd, 2015 by R MAHMOOD

You should receive AOR within weeks from the day CIC recieved you file so you are likely to receive an email within the next few days. 3-4 weeks after that you get the sponsorship approval decision.

Ah, so basically it's probably sitting on a pile right now, and won't know anything until they review it?

Thank you for asking the question, because I was just wondering the same thing (kept wondering what AOR stood for, haha).. We sent in Aug 17 and just this morning I got confirmation from Canada Post it was delivered. Unfortunately I didn't know that signatures are not included in Xpresspost and you have to ask separately for them.. the guy never offered the option to me. But oh well, at least I have tracking and confirmation it arrived there and now knwo to expect something in 3-4 weeks.

Does anyone know if the "time" starts ticking from the day it was received, or from the day CIC sends the acknowledgement 3 weeks later? It would make a difference to the police certificates that we sent in...

that's great to hear, thank you!

I got an email from CIC! They received my application. It took 30 days from the day the package was signed for at the post office. Just a heads up for anyone else with this question.

Thanks Celcius, we're on a similar timeline so fingers crossed we hear off CIC soon too!

Even though we had a signature to say it had been received, we're anxious to hear from them.

Here's hoping we get our SA's soon as well!
