Hi all, wish I may get some help from you guys.

My Canadian husband and I submitted the spouse sponsorship inland application last year mid Nov by post, but then we received some documents back from Canada Post and saying those are found as loose and undeliverable items during delivery. Having said that, in the canada post delivery system, the status is "delivered"!!!

2 months passed, we still haven't received any acknowledgement letter from CIC or any documents while we couldn't check our application record online either. We are really frustrated now since we don't know what should we do or which department to call for help. It would be great if anyone here can share some experience. Thank you!!!

You wont be able to do anything until you hear from CIC. They will either ask you to submit the forms or documents that are missing or worse case scenario send the application back as incomplete. There isnt any point in trying to contact them until the open your application as you wont have an application or UCI number yet so they can't check anything for you unfortunately. Just keep your fingers crossed you get a reasonable officer who just asks you to submit the missing docs.

I found this thread, and realized I have a question on the topic.
What is the best way to send the documents so everything is delivered for sure?
What kind of delivery service you can recommend?

Thanks!

We used registered post thr Canada Post but accident still happened. oh well.

Anyway, we are thinking to resend the whole application again... We don't wanna waste our time to wait for almost 2 years but then we don't even know if they received the application. So guys, there are no such thing of acknowledgement letter of application received?

Vaza- really it depends where you are sending it from, however most tend to agree to try and avoid canada post wherever possible. UPS/FEDEX etc are all more expensive options.

CIC are inconsistent with AOR (acknowledgment of receipt) so you may or may not receive anything. Is there a specific reason you applied inland and not outland?

Oh dear, no wonder you folks are so frustrated, I would be that and a whole lot more !!! Call immigration (CIC) the toll free number on the website repeatedly until they give you an answer!! Also get your husband to call your MP to see if they can inquire from their end. Do not wait for CIC to contact you as it is possible they did not even get the package. Then I would write a blasting letter to Canada Post and tell them you want an apology, an explanation, your money back and assurance that they will fix their "system" so this does not happen to anyone else!!!

Always take action in these situations, you cannot rely on CIC to take the initiative, they are understaffed and swamped enough as it is. Treat your immigration file like your precious baby. The minute something goes wrong, go on high alert and sort it out. :D Blessings.

I think the problem will be its sitting in a pile of unopened apps so getting someone in CIC to hunt it down and open it, check the contents and get back to you would be quite an achievement. (Although not impossible it has been done with the right pressure applied)

It seems AOR's are really inconsistent at the moment but it might be worth checking with the call centre although its only just over two months since OP filed. Here is a link to a similar case (see the post by fandv). They eventually contacted their MP but the difference was it was an outland app which is much quicker for SA.

CIC is sending AOR for those who applied in the first half of November, so call centre may not be able to confirm if your app was received.
May I ask you what's your country of origin?

You are most welcome. It is an unfortunate dilemma and I can only imagine the stress :(. Did you make and keep a duplicate package for yourselves (I am praying you did)? If you received back the "loose" undelivered documents from Canada Post and received a "delivered" confirmation from them, why don't you re-send CIC (use Fedex or another known courier) the missing documents only, with a copy of the Canada Post confirmation and an explanation, while you are waiting? Are you close to the time you should be getting an AOR? On your Canada Post receipt there "should" be the name or initials of the person who had to sign for the package. Make sure you have that when you call CIC, just in case it helps.

Can't hurt and maybe it will help you feel better to take some action. Blessings and hang in there.

CdnandTrinl, that's a good idea! and yes, I did keep one set copy for myself luckily.
But we don't have the name or initial of the person who signed for the package tho...hope it won't make too much trouble.
Thx again!!

sophieee, thanks for your info! It's really helpful since i may now expecting an AOR to arrive by Feb hopefully! I am from Hong Kong btw.

Best wishes and if you are an inland couple that means you are able to wait out the process together and that is already half the battle! :)

But also be aware, it may be a LONG time before you get SA or other communication. Last time I checked, which was a little while, stage one was at a year.

The reason I was asking for your country of origin is that right now the inland process is not so promising. The good news is that CIC promise to give everyone a work permit after 4 months (although no one knows how will it work in the practice), but the whole process is awful long and it gets even longer. According to the nowadays timeline, given that your app was received at the of November, 2014, you would be a PR at the very end of 2016.
In contrast the Hong Kong office is pretty fast, 80% of the applicants get their PR in 7 months, many of them even faster. You can still stay in Canada with visitor extension, and start your "normal" life as a PR much faster.
I'm saying this so if there is anything wrong with your app and you need to apply again (hope not!) I would definitely choose the outland route. You can have more input about the outland process here:

Thanks god that I got my AOR letter today!!! Woohoo!! So much pressure released!
Again, thanks all for giving so much info here.

sophieee..Work permit issued after 4 months of...?? stage 1? This is a great news! I love to work..haha!
Me and my hubby do know Hong Kong office work much faster actually, but we would like to stay put together and I can start adapting life here as well...so, we chose to apply inland. Is always Pros and Cons :)
