Dear guys,
got a reply from accra,the guy sent the message using his personal mail.he said i should send the baby's pic x birthcert so that they can issue the medicals.but i have already sent scanned bankdraft,pics,notice of birth(birthcert not yet ready),endorsed her pic on her mom's passport and two other forms.what do u think.soj

SOJ, get the birth certy for them i think it is the easiest thing to get. Go to the Local govt. and ask for National Population Commision office they will do it for you. It is free.Be fast men so that you will not hit one year date after medical.

Honestly that was what i was about sending to you that they will like to confirm the maternity and the paternity of the baby before visa can be granted. You will even be refered to do her medical. Just be fast about the whole stuff

I read through all this stuffs.
I can understand CIC Accra, they need to be sure about everything since people do all sorts to get this. Just give them all the info required and on time too which is very important at this stage.

About getting the baby's personal international passport, at how many days old? That is never done anywhere babies details are always put in the mum's passport that is the procedure but on second thought they might need that for other things when you guys land........we really need to ask people's advise on this. Soj if I may ask, are you using a lawyer? If yes then just ask your lawyer on this if not then maybe we might need to post a thread for this in the forum maybe others have suggestions or ideas

I mentioned this in one of my replies to your query but thought you can get away with putting your daughter's details on your wife's intl passport.

You can get an intl passport for your daughter but it is tricky and the immgration folks will have to support you to make it happen. Sit down on a chair and have the cloth (for the background) thrown on your lap up to your neck/head, hold your baby from the inside (so your hand does not show). Let the baby lean back a bit since she can't hold her head straight yet and have her picture taken/scanned for the intl passport. This is what I did for one of my "soldiers" some years back.
This should work as the devil's alternative should the Accra people insist.

Yemkik,thanks initially i used a nigerian lawyer based in canada but not anymore.even the nigerian high commission in canada put it on thier website that it can only issue passport for a child of 5 years.if they insist that i should get her an international passport then maybe i will have to do it illegally and it is going to cost more money(18k).

Getting a passport for your baby is no big deal. I got the new international e-passport for my baby when she was a month old while applying for my HSMP visa and UK embassy lagos insisted on baby having her own passport. The women at immigration office are experts at this and can carry babies that are even 1-week old for snapping! So it's no big deal. The issue is just "settling" the right immigration guys so that your baby can quickly be snapped and e-passport processed so that you can meet up with CHC Accra as the time is short. That's my take.

Asquare,thanks man mi,i will put into motion the procedure(naija way) as soon as i get back from accra.just got his mail now,he said the passport will be required on the day the visa will be issued but i can pick the medicals on monday.

Soj i think u shld take the pictures the way oloye says u shld coz even d US embassy want infants to ave their own int'l passports.

just do as A-Square said. I just got my e-passport about a month ago, i saw a lot of babies getting snapped. its no big deal, just get to Ikoyi passport office they will do it for you.

soj if u r in abj u can also get to d new passport office along d airport road but u may still ave 2 buy d card and fill d form on line d card is available at any sterling bank branch closest 2 u if u even get 2 d banks dey may b able 2 direct u 2 an immigration official dat dey use or know dnt worri u can get it in no time as long as u r ready 2 shake body d naija way u know now.
