hello Everyone,

I am a newbie, this is my first post. Sofar i am impress with contribution from members in this forum, I am still trying to catch up on all the threads posted. I am happy to see ppl with similar circumstances helping themselves.

This are my application details

Sent appllication thru DHL to Accra in Dec 26 2002

AOR recieved June 2003 stating that my application is in process since January 2003.

Since then i have not heard from Accra office, i am worried cos i always update and send my documents to the embassy anytime my status change. The waiting is killing .... 5 years!! waiting is no joke. I feel depressed anytime I check cic website and notice that they have increased the average processing time. I watch it increas from 49 months to the present 71 months, it seem it might hit 10 yrs very soon.

Out of frustration i applied and was granted UK HSMP visa under 3 months, I am presently living in the Uk with my Family, but I am still interested in migrating to the canada because I am not sure migrants are welcome here in the UK. There are too much uncertainties with the UK migration system that its better looking for alternative. Its close to election time here, the Labour party and Conversative party are in competition to prove who is meaniest towards immigrant. The HSMP visa rules are changed too frequently that no one knows what to expect. Another review of the HSMP visa is coming Jan 08, we are hoping for the worst, in the last review, the implementation was retroactive, lots of people have been sent back home because they can not meet the new creteria. I dont think I want to put my family through such umcertainty thats why i desperately need the Canadian visa.

Now my question;

Is it possible to request for my file transferred from Accra to CHC London? and wil my request affect my processing time?
I read some where in this forum that such request for file transfer if granted will make my application afresh in London office, at this stage i am looking to reduce my time not to prolong it.

Pls senior members help with my querry.

It is better to raise your query as a new topic for proper attention. My Accra brothers will surely reply as soon as they see Accra in the subject line.

Do not request for transfer of application otherwise you will start afresh; be patient and you will soon hear from CHC Accra.

Decisions made out of frustration are never right - be guided!

Peace!

Hi can-vic,

I share in your predicament.
Canadian residency visa is not one to apply and be waiting for reply immediately, better to apply and get on with your life and be expectant that one day you will be called. The volume of applicants had increased since the cut-off point was lowered from 75 to 67 which is why so many people keep applying shooting up the figure, it may even interest you to know that Accra (which serves as catchment area for English speaking West African countries, Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Gambia) has the largest chunk of applicants from Nigeria, which is why processing time keeps going up yearly with no end to this..............

The rule says you have to apply where you are a resident (residency here may mean citizens or permanent residents of the country you are applying from), except you are British born changing your application to any other country other than your country of birth or where you have residency status may prolong your application. Another area you might consider is through PNP (Provincial Nominee Programme) meaning that any of the provinces of Canada might nominate and accept you as a candidate which might hasten your application, give it a shot, you never can say.........

Try this sites:

www.alberta-canada.com/pnp/
www.nlpnp.ca
www.ontarioimmigration.ca/english/pnp.asp

Cheers
Yemkik

SOJ.,
Based on my discussion with you on phone on Saturday, you should have returned from Accra by the time you are reading this post. How was your trip and the cic pple?
The medical for the baby must be done this week as you returned and get the doctor to mail it on time also keep disturbing them with mail so that something can be done this month.

soj,
So you are on the second leg of the wait! Meaning you will have little time for travel planning in January. Hope they issue your visas ASAP.

Btw, how easy is it to get to a good hotel in Ghana using ask airport cab?
