Am not sure how the backlog has affected processing at CHC Accra, the new system will only ensure that people that don't qualify do not clog the system. Things may not necessarily improve except if the visa allocated to Accra is increased, with naija having an average of 4/5 persons per family, you can imagine its impact on the few visas allocated to this visa office.dreamteam said:please how many from 9ja have been issued visas from the accra office and how fast has it been?under the new system i meant.thanks all
Exactly sir, the emboldened part is the one i am most happy about. I have said many times over that applicants under the Accra office are one of the greatest beneficiaries of the new change - bill c50 rule. I know that as at 2008, Accra's quota was approx 2000visas, with about 20,000 applications pending to be processed under the pre c50- which then means there could be a very long wait of up to ten years if the prevailing conditions at the time remains constant. The bill c50 has made it possible eligible applicants to "jump the queue".tito said:Am not sure how the backlog has affected processing at CHC Accra, the new system will only ensure that people that don't qualify do not clog the system. Having been there, done that. My advice is to concentrate on life after landing, your visa will surely come as long as you are qualified to immigrate. Focus on your present life and prepare for the big move - mentally and all.
All the best!
Some have gotten their PPR, and one has even gotten his passport stamped. loltito said:Ok, I may have to overrule myself..please check the link below, Sir K applied this year and already got medical and RPRF request as of July 8th 2009. So you have your answer, I guess

Chevchenko, it is important to note that there is no guarantee that the new one would be successful. This question can best be answered by CHC themselves. What you can do is to request for CAIPS note, this will help you make a decision. Hope you remember anyway that new rule has its own downsides especially the "May" and "Have to" Clause. In the old process, the CIC/officer has to look at the case, in the new one the CIC/officer may look at the case.chevchenko said:Hello Guys,
A quick one, Is it advisable to cancel your application and re-apply?, because timeline for Accra keeps increasing, for example I applied in june 2005 (4 years already), it will be crazy if I have to wait for another 4 years (going by the timeline).
I recently finished my CGA (Certified General Accountants of Canada) exams, so I am now a member.
My thinking is that If I cancel the old application and put in for a new one could make a difference, or should I just forward the new qualification to them?
many thanks
You may send in the new one whilst the old one is still running. The guides and the oprational bulletins say so on the CiC site. You would be advised to withdraw one of the cases once you get to the finals of whichever case is quicker. If funding isn't an issue for you, i would advise you send it in sharpish. As you've done CGA, i reckon you're into Accounting/finance and those two are in the list of 38 under C-50 rules.chevchenko said:Hello Guys,

Good morning, If you search the Forum for Accra spousal sponsorship or spousal sponsorship, you will find threads more related to where you are at in the process, with information which may help you.Ordered GCMS notes for my husbands PR app and it looks like the application has been sent to Accra Visa Office to finish up. According to the notes looks like it was sent in Oct 2021. Anyone know what kind of timeline we might be working with before we finally get the update for him to drop off his passport? Anyone else doing out of Canada spousal sponsorship?
