I have been in Canada since 2006 as accompanying spouse who is under work permit. I have been issued an open work permit and it has been renewed periodically as it had expired. My partner’s company has always done the renewal process for him and myself as accompanying spouse. Last permit is valid until May, 2016.
I happen to have worked for my partner’s company for a year now.

The relationship with my partner has deteriorated and he is now threaten me to leave Canada or he will have the permit voided.

The only remark in the work permit reads: Temporary residence status maintained as per R183(6). Accompanying spouse on work permit valid to the same date CB/QRC.

I am not prepare to leave Canada and wonder if he can do something like that. I desperately need an advice from the experts here to let me know what my rights are.

Thanks in advance!!!!

This is not a good situation to be in.
First of all, I would advise you to sit down with your spouse to talk things over. If the issues are beyond resolution, then tell him calmly that you would prefer to stay here and look at other options instead of leaving Canada as he wants you to.
At the same time, I would also recommend you to take a 1 hour appointment with a good immigration attorney and talk with him. Write down all your questions and ask him during your 1 hour session and try to get clear answers to what options you have. If possible, take your spouse with you so you don't have to explain those options to him later.
This board is merely a members board. Unless, someone here is a certified attorney in such matters, I wouldn't advise you to take legal advice from here.

Again, two adults like yourself and your spouse can sit down and come up with solutions to your problems. Be strong!

Thanks gates1580.
I guess what I expect to know from this forum is an answer to my question. Can he legally void my work permit?

Thanks again.

I don't see anywhere on the CIC web site that says he can void an already issued OWP.
When it expires however, it may well be "game over" as there is no obligation to support its renewal.
Maybe you should be considering independently applying for PR under CEC, if you qualify?
